Did all these people think they meant anything to Stack Overflow other than content?

Like you were special frens? Family?

Welcome, yet again to the realities of capitalism you technololbertarian patsies. You got played, again because you are the best form of patsy: the one who firmly believes they are too smart to be suckered.

“I am not some dumb laborer or tradesperson, I need no help for I Am Too Smart To Be Played.”

And then you get played

And then you get played

And then you get played

And then you get played

Over and over, yet still you believe that you are the Randian Avatar, that you are the Unique Special Child to whom all things will be awarded.

You’re not. You’re another crab in the bucket and many of us wish you would stop yanking down every attempt to fix things that isn’t solely about and for you.

Children, you were lied to. Initially by your families and society, and now by yourselves.

You are not special. All of you, me too, are replaceable.

This need you have to be the only one who gets ahead is what is holding you back. It makes you the easiest of tools to use, and you keep putting yourselves into random hands, then wondering why you keep being broken.

When I say “you are not special”, I don’t mean you have no value as person.

I mean that you have no greater or lesser value than anyone else.

This nonsense you've been fed has made you become a toddler in many ways. "All by myself" is how you think of your accomplishments while using tools you didn't build, resources you have no clue as to their operations, while benefitting from the efforts of thousands, if not millions of people you have never met or ever will meet.

There isn't a single developer who truly did it "all by theirselves”. The faster you understand that, the easier everything gets. You are in this together. Coworkers, family, friends, customers, people you never see doing critical work, (Seriously, you should be sending Xmas gifts to sanitation workers.)

Once you internalize this, then you realize only collectively can you create a world where you can live a life not dominated by constant stress about fundamentals. Like food, clothing, etc.

SO has been a truly amazing resource, but the questioners and answerers both were never more than resources for the company behind it to make money.

Stop acting as if you're surprised they're...doing things that will make them money. If it bothers you sufficiently, figure out a way to fix that problem. It's not like SO is some perfect resource, god, it's awful if you're a beginner. It celebrates a culture of being an asshole just because you can.

Band together, and build something better.

Or sit there and cry about a fact you've always known, but didn't want to face.

Me personally, I don’t care which option you choose. My need for SO is remarkably small.

But if you use it, well, there's an opportunity there for you. What you do with it is up to you.
