i dont get uk style because it is very uk specific. uk has no constitution. the whole lower and upper house, monarchy and whatever foo seems complicated. also many areas have special roles (not only uk members like wales, scottland, north ireland but also the city of london)
@grillchen westminster style parliament is present in so many countries though (Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc) so it is pretty influential :blobcateyes:
@cell personally i like switzerlands style of treating their citiziens as responsible adults. sure many people are idiots but they stay idiots if u treat them like children.
i dont really like parties but i am not sure what is a good alternative. and i prefer party orientated discourse over people orientated discourse.
on an eu level i think we have one level to many.
EU -> Nation- > Province/State -> Communal level
imo it is an interesting idea to get rid of the Nation level. while it may sound radical it might on one hand unifiy the EU identity and on the other hand it might improve the local identity.
@grillchen@cell Trudeau has done much to destroy the "Canadian" identity that wasn't much to begin with, now Canada is hard at work to squash the Quebecker identity. At this point it's either separate or die
