I'm surprised they even catch any of the ones that happen that far north. You think people up there could just make people disappear ... "they probably got eaten by a bear" type shit ... you guys got bears right?
Interesting. What are the big industries up there? Fishing? Tourism? Did everyone know everyone in your town? How big was your school? Are there trains going up there or is it all driving/flying to get out?
@djsumdog Fishing is a big one across the entire country, as you'd expect from a country that more or less consists of coastline.
Tourism isn't super big. You'd think it would be, given that the area is in the Arctic and has fairly good infrastructure, given the circumstances.
The primary school had 300 pupils and the middle school had about 200.
There have been talks about extending the rail network up there for ages, but nothing ever materialises. It goes as far north as Narvik, with a connection to Sweden. So yes, you're always driving or flying to get out. It takes 2.5 hours to get to Oslo, the capital, from there.
Only 2.5? Oh wow, it's closer than I thought. I guess the scale just looks big on flat maps cause of Earth's curvature and all that. It does look like it'd be very beautiful.
