The #BRPGabrielaSilang sailed for a two-week mission in #BenhamRise & Batanes following reported presence of China Coast Guard ships in the area.

BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) is an offshore patrol vessel of the Philippine Coast Guard.[8] She is the first offshore patrol vessel and currently, the second largest and most modern vessel of the Philippine Coast Guard. Named after Gabriela Silang, a revolutionary leader during the Philippine struggle for independence from Spain. She was constructed by French shipbuilder OCEA S.A. based on the OPV-270 Mk II design, in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France.[2]

The #PhilippineNavy on Sunday said that the Chinese research vessels seen in the waters surrounding #BenhamRise or #PhilippineRise located in the #EastPhilippineSea are now outside the country’s exclusive economic zone (#EEZ).

Previously the Chinese vessels left from #LongxueIsland in #Guangzhou before moving through Benham Rise, which is inside the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone. #EastPHSea #China
