Reminder: Free Geek is accepting equipment donations at several locations in the Portland metro area this month.
From one of their emails:
"Please note: In order to focus efforts on the devices most in demand, the #TechNOW campaign will only accept laptops (including their power adapters), tablets, and cellphones."

The #Gresham#ORwx Craters in our Heads National Monument registers an AQI index of 157, down from an earlier reading of 164. Experts have graded it as "slightly sooty, with hints of scorched asphalt."
The #Gresham#ORwx Blast-O-Plex reports the current temperature is 105F which feels like 112F, and we've got a bit more heating to go. We've exceeded the predicted temperature, 103F, making it a clean sweep so far. Every day of the heat dome the predicted temperature was an underestimate. Tomorrow's high is supposed to drop to 94F. I suppose that means 98F.
The Intragalactic Transport Portal in #Gresham#ORwx reports the current temperature is 103F which feels like 113. Portal operators apologize for the heat dome and assure customers it will be over by Thursday. Probably. Maybe. We'll see.
My. It's certainly hot in here. 2 out of 3 thermostats say it's 81. The old style one on a wall says it's 80. Outside it's... 111F and feels like 120F. #Gresham#ORwx
It's 103F outside at Holo Deck Assembly Station #Gresham#ORwx, feels like 107F and it's 79F in here. The temperature has dropped a degree, so we might be escaping the 6 pm peak we often experience around this place.
Good news! We've surpassed the predicted temperature for the Planetary Defense Launch Complex in #Gresham#ORwx. We're #1! We're #1! That is a record, right? 103F which feels like 108F? If not, kill me n... no, don't!!
Sometimes I forget I'm on the internet and, well...
It was forecast to be 102F today here at Moon Base Resupply Dock #Gresham#ORwx. It is 102F outside. It won't peak until 6 pm. Again, summer forecasts seem consistently low during heat waves. I don't know if models take into account the loss of polar ice and what that does in summertime or what, but something seems off to me.
I just laid down some tracks, grunted at them, and decided to jam to tunes by Snoop Dogg, Nelly and Joe B. instead. Much more therapeutic.
It's going to be a million degrees outside for a few days in the Pan-dimensional Public Bakery that is #Gresham#ORwx, but after Monday's scorcher, slowly comes a cooling trend.
Oh, dang. I forgot to get some potato salad. I haven't the ingredients. Can't win them all.
I have 2 windows about ready for 100F+ temps. It feels cooler in here since I added them - especially in the kitchen. I attached aluminum foil to large cardboard with wide but not very tacky masking tape and have one window mostly blocked with that behind the curtain. The kitchen gets blocks of packing material which works very well for that spot. Tonight I'll clean the A/C filters.
