Someone on birdsite asked about the data for this map I posted five years ago (and someone recently tweeted). The data is derived from Bert Vaux's dialect survey, made famous by Joshua Katz's red-green-blue original version of the map. I never found a clean data source; I basically extracted the dot locations from http://survey.johndal.com/results/240/.
