The special #House election tomorrow pits #MaziPilip, a little-known Nassau County legislator who is running as a #Republican, against #TomSuozzi, a #Democrat & fmr 3-term congressman. Pilip — who was born in Ethiopia & served in the #IDF before coming to the #UnitedStates — is still registered as a Democrat. Early voting ended on Sunday.
The race has drawn wider attention as a proxy fight for many of the most important issues dividing Washington & the nation. The outcome could affect the strained dynamics in the #House, where #Republicans hold a 219-to-212 majority. Both parties are looking to this race for an early read on which issues, & which messages, might matter most in November.

She reports between ~$1-5m in assets, largely in bitcoin and her husband’s medical practice
Unusually, Pilip also reports a $100k-250k #taxliability to the IRS.

#MaziPilip, #GOPcandidate running to replace the seat vacated by #GeorgeSantos has not provided much of a #platform & refuses to answer reporters questions on her stance on #abortion (not that MsM even asks, others do). Pilip continues to not speak publicly and has turned down all requests for #debates (which are traditional) against Democrat #TomSuozzi.
