Had a pretty quiet weekend, as I tried to stay off my wicked sore knees. Saturday was particularly awful, but they do seem to be ever so slowly getting better. I stayed in bed, took ibuprofen, kept them both iced down and played #NoMansSky on my ROG Ally. It plays very well on the little Z1. Amazing how they have kept the game relevant and getting better, after all these years. It is getting a little grindy, but I should probably push off my start planet and get exploring.
#Today has already been very busy and will only get busier. I drove my wife to work and took a foster kitty to the vets. Later, I'll meet some ex-coworkers for lunch about an hour away and hopefully pick up my wife on the way home. And then I will need to rest up for the #NHLBruins playoff game tonight. They looked really good on Saturday night. I really hope Coach Montgomery learned his lesson from last year and just sticks with the goalie rotation.
... and I also feel the need to memorialize the event here and say that it's REALLY hard to cheer anymore for a goalie who gives up two shorthanded goals in 45 seconds
@mt_hitchcock@hockey@hnom I think everyone starts to flag a little bit at this point in the season. I'm not talking out loud about the #NHLBruins because I'm still stinging from last year and I don't want to jinx anything...
Felt marginally better at hockey this morning. I think I at least played a little better than the #NHLBruins last night - ugh, what an ugly game. I was feeling pretty good until I gave up 3 quick goals. We did come back to win by one, so I can't complain. And I didn't think much about my knee and it doesn't seem to be affecting my play at all, at least physically. Still need to get more mentally sharp though. Amazing how much I lose when I miss a few skates.
The #NHLBruins went into last nights game vs the #LetsGoOilers with a clear plan that was executed with perfection. Can they do the same with the #Flames after their previous tilt? 🤔
In preparation for attending the Bruins vs Oilers game tonight, my husband let me dress him. He says he'd rather cheer for the Oilers because he's "practically from Edmonton" but he's agreeing to it because it makes me happy.
I told him to hold still so I could take a picture. "For what?" he asked. "Blackmail?"
Dave is off overpaying for food and drinks. Meanwhile, the rest of our party have found our seats. Tons of folks in Bruins jerseys waited in line with us. We are among our people.
No one questioned Dave for wearing an Oilers hat and Bruins hoodie. Yet.
Intermission panels are almost universally terrible, regardless of sport or network. But this SportsNet panel is the worst of the worst. I think I'd rather watch non-stop Save-On-Foods commercials than these guys. Capital-A awful.
#NHLBruins are currently looking at a 118-point season. While competition is stiff in the east, and especially after last season - coupled with the loss of key players, in the immortal words of Bart Simpson, "that ain't not bad" 😂
