The first episode is so good, that gentle blend of humour, difficulty and kindness. Girls who are into astronomy. Girls who look out for each other. Giant fluffy dog. Aylin!!!
het puppy love (there are literal puppies) early 30s virgins rom com where the ML is often patronising to the free spirit FL-wrapped in so many story lines #lakorn that sometimes went on a bit too long-wrapped in so much love and acceptance i could never stay cross with it for long
Enigma, Episode 1
I love how resourceful Fa is, she's more than book-smart. Prim does a great job with the character too. Every emotion tracks with the situation she's in. I know others will focus on the interesting mystery of Ajin but for me this will always be Fa's story.

4 episodes, compact very bingeable supernatural that's creepy AF but not too scary. Set in a girls' high school with smart, strong, determined young women and Win Metawin's abs (that bit's for @JillsJoy )
Four episodes into #TheGifted and i think my expectations were a bit too high, given how much praise this one gets. It's good, and there's still plenty to go so maybe it will get better, but so far it doesn't have the tightness, energy and complexity of 55:15 Never Too Late, The Shipper or Enigma.
55:15 also starts out with a focus episode for each main character, so perhaps that's set my bar unfairly high.
Am liking Fiat in his role. Thought I hadn't seen him before, aside from being one of the three singers in the Cause You're My Boy OST, but when I went to see what else he's done I discovered he played one of the few characters in Triage I thought was worth the time.
There's a quiet intensity to his work.
The different threads of #TheGifted are coming together, though they're still inclined to ignore characters, and it's tightening up finally.
started watching The Gifted yesterday. very well regarded Thai supernatural mystery series set in a high school.

Nanon (peeved with school but not existentially grumpy), Sing (friendly sidekick) & Chimon (freakishly smart & a real pain) in main roles; Gun is listed as main role but hasn't done anything yet. AJ & JJ are also in it.
This really won me over by the end. Slice of life youth drama in a rural village with a raw vibrancy, especially as it explores emotions and vulnerability in its second half.
This is just lovely. An inquisitive, full of life young woman as lead, calm man who appreciates all of that in her, delightful mischievous Uncle who makes her found family instantly, friendship between women, a calm setting on a farm in Japan and trips for food and sight seeing, negotiating language differences and learning more about Thai language through that, gentle and real emotions.

the beginning is uneven but still well worth two hours if you like short stories told in visual form and learning about another culture.

it's a small wee thing with a simple story, simple emotions and a handful of characters but it's a lovely place to be....
one of the characters talks about wanting to stop time so she can stay and i just realised that's what i did when i said nope, 45 minutes is enough for now. going to save the last episode for later.
I found fan subs for an older #ThaiSeries about a young woman who goes to Japan to stay on a farm for her university final project. First episode and there's already found family and lots of food.
Most of the drama watchers here will probably find it too slow, which means just right for me :)
It's also a 10 episode series, currently airing 😮 I don't know if I've spoiled it for myself or if I will love it all the more for knowing the story but I'm looking forward to this.
The use of music and cinematography in the long sequence of Li Ming being upset is beautiful example of the way #ThaiSeries can cradle pain. It's there, it's real but it's conveyed gently.
It wasn't the light hearted comedy I thought would be good balance to the intensity of the lakorn I'm watching, but damn GMMTV hit it out of the park with The Warp Effect. Full on, absolutely crammed to the brim with good messaging but the resulting density of pain through the middle was difficult. Watched far too much today to get to the end, and they pulled it off.
