Can anyone point me to any resources they recommend on building Widgets for macOS which pay particular attention to dynamic configuration (selecting user created values from the main app) and interactivity?

Is it just me or everything is super confusing when building for ?

It's a PITA to debug entries states, it's too much boilerplate code to get a widget working... idk, I'm not loving the journey tbqh.

working on a for that constantly displays a value i retrieve from a backing store, and am wondering if it's semantically correct to not populate my Timeline? i just got started and don't fully grok , but im not sure it makes sense for me to provide additional entries cause that would mean i’m extrapolating what the value would be in future times?

Hmm, where do you even start with debugging the Monochrome style of iPhone widgets running on macOS Sonoma. Is that behaviour documented anywhere?

iPhone widget teleported to macOS Sonoma that looks fine in “Full Colour” but all broken in “Monochrome” style.

I can't run a .supportedFamilies([.systemSmall]) widget in simulator: "The request to open "com.apple.springboard" failed." If I specify .supportedFamilies([.systemSmall, .systemMedium]), it works & I see the widget on the home screen.

Any idea?

Most devs: the new APIs are so limiting, I hope Apple improves them dramatically!

The hardest parts of software dev are when you don't know the right questions to ask. Well crafted, frequently done tasks are easy to google and have lots of results. Harder, though, is not being able to say exactly what you want to do because you're new to the domain, and you don't know the terms. I've been building a app in and having a hard time mostly because I am so unfamiliar with xcode. I can't seem to get debugging to work, and I'm not googling the right things

Is it possible to test iOS lock screen widgets in simulator? All I can see are only widgets from system apps.
