Can anyone point me to any resources they recommend on building Widgets for macOS which pay particular attention to dynamic configuration (selecting user created values from the main app) and interactivity? #iosdev#swift#swiftui#macdev#macos#WidgetKit
working on a #widget for #iOS that constantly displays a value i retrieve from a backing store, and am wondering if it's semantically correct to not populate my Timeline? i just got started and don't fully grok #WidgetKit, but im not sure it makes sense for me to provide additional entries cause that would mean i’m extrapolating what the value would be in future times?
I can't run a .supportedFamilies([.systemSmall]) widget in simulator: "The request to open "com.apple.springboard" failed." If I specify .supportedFamilies([.systemSmall, .systemMedium]), it works & I see the widget on the home screen.
The hardest parts of software dev are when you don't know the right questions to ask. Well crafted, frequently done tasks are easy to google and have lots of results. Harder, though, is not being able to say exactly what you want to do because you're new to the domain, and you don't know the terms. I've been building a #widgetkit#ios app in #swiftui and having a hard time mostly because I am so unfamiliar with xcode. I can't seem to get debugging to work, and I'm not googling the right things
There are two EPIC Q&As happening! From 11:00am - 1:00pm PT ask the #WidgetKit team all your questions about animations, interactivity, and anything else! And from 1:00-3:00pm, the #SwiftUI team is excited to to answer your questions and learn more about your use-cases! #WWDC23
