Coincidence that World Emoji Day falls on this date? Nope! When Apple released their Calendar emoji in iOS 5.1, it also featured this July 17 date. Since then, many vendors have adopted this date in their Emojis, and since 2014, it has been celebrated as #WorldEmojiDay. ๐
If you're wondering how my radio interview went this morning, I got a question about the phrase "quiet quitting" and was able to go off about how stupid it is that we culturally expect people to go "above and beyond" at work ... so I'd say it went well. :)
Itโs World Emoji Day! I'm old enough to remember when we had to make our own emojis by finding an urchin, paying them to pull a face, swiftly engraving their likeness onto an enamel button, hailing a hansom cab, and delivering the emoji by hand to an individual. #WorldEmojiDay
