@josh
I will agree with you for the most part.
I've recently started using #ArcBrowser on my work Mac and it is definitely the exception. The gestures are so good that I struggle to use the browser with a regular mouse.
Luckily they are working on a Windows version at the moment.
@allafarce Excuse me, do you have time to talk about our Lord and Saviour #ArcBrowser?
For real, I definitely have felt similarly in the past, but Arc does on improve on this. My workflow is a combination of renaming tabs, using spaces, folders, and pinning “links to highlights” (aka text fragments) or just anchors on the page. I imagine I could tap into splitting tabs with their notes/easel feature as I already do that with codepens. There definitely needs to be more done in this direction though.
Here's an #ArcBrowser boost I made in about 5 minutes. It affects the official Mastodon site, changing the theme to a purple pastel. It also hides all post interaction counts.
@box464
That's pretty awesome.
I was trying to make one where it followed my Arc Browser theme but failed miserably.
I might give it another go soon. I just wish they would have that as a prebuilt option to select like they do for the colour wheel.
#ArcBrowser has a feature that makes the chrome developer console end user friendly to alter the style of any site (and add javascript too), then share those collections of edits to others.
More and more sites are allowing customizations like this (dark mode, font sizes, themes). And the share feature makes it fun.
Calckey / Misskey kind of have this already.
But I can see this ruffling some front-end feathers, right? birdsite 🪶 🪶
First thing I did after getting the new #ArcBrowser update with their updated point-and-click GUI for Boosts is “zap” the Twitter Blue menu item for Twitter.
#ArcBrowser chce dac uzytkownikom mozliwosc latwego i dowolnego grzebania w stylu strony, usuwania jej elementow itp. a to wszystko bez koniecznosci znajomosci CSSow - nie powiem, wyglada na ciekawy ficzer 🧐 #BoostsByArc
Fellow #ArcBrowser users, what spaces do you have?
I used to only have “🌙 Personal” and “🌞 Work”, with a few short-lived one-offs e.g. when researching some purchase or demoing some thing.
I recently split out a “🎩 Hat” space from the work one – the “hat” is our role for second-line support, monitoring exceptions and such. I think I like the separation so far – planned work in one space, monitoring and reactive work in another.
The “Air Traffic Control” feature that just landed in #ArcBrowser is the best. I’ve been asking for it since day one. In a nutshell, it allows you to create rules for open URLs in specific spaces/profiles.
Ach, und ich hab mal wieder 5 #ArcBrowser Invites über, wenn Jemand eine will. Ich bin seit schon immer, durch Gut und Böse, ein Safari-Nutzer, aber Arc hat mich umgeschwenkt.
Getting the opportunity to try #ArcBrowser as of today. Immediate impressions are favorable. I’m digging the ideas of automated tab cleanup and spaces.
It’s super clean looking, too, due to the heavy focus on a sidebar rather than a top bar.
Oh, and think I’m going to like having CMD + T not only launch a new tab, but also act as a Launchy-esque in-browser launcher.
Howdy y'all—welcome to the new Arc Browser magazine on kbin and the fediverse!
