On a mission to have a sufficiency #wardrobe and limit my #carbon#emissions I did a #closet#audit. Turns out I own 30 pairs of pants: 2 white, 6 green, 6 brown, 7 black and 9 blue?!? This is not counting pjs, capris, sweatpants, yoga pants or leggings. People I’m not even fashionable and I could wear a different pair every day of the month! 🫣
To reduce global #fashion related #carbon#emissions equitably, we all need to shift our consumption of clothes into the fair consumption window of 59-129 kg CO2e/person/y. But how much clothing is that? What do you really need? What do you really #wear? Join me in a #closet#audit and find out!
The graph below comes from this report: https://hotorcool.org/unfit-unfair-unfashionable/
I’m on a journey to curb my #carbon footprint and I’m taking aim at my #wardrobe. An estimated 84% of the #emissions related to #fashion are upstream (production, distribution, retail) so the best thing we can do is buy less. About 25-30% of items in the typical G20 closet never get worn, so my mission is to audit my #closet and see what I do and don’t wear to work out how to live in my #fair consumption window.
If you had to replace an old, 1970's sliding closet door (which doesn't work anyway), what would you replace it with? (somewhat limited space, small bedroom/office) #remodeling
Current closet, minus drywall at the bottom. Currently contemplating putting my network equipment on the right side of this -- either in the closet or outside, in a small freestanding short rack. It was previously full of random banker's boxes of random cruft. #closet#remodel
@adelinej I made the move to self-identify the moment I became aware. I’ve been through coming out as #LGBTQ and #BDSM, so I have no interest in further enduring the self-harm of the #closet or #masking.
#MattSchlapp is a repressed #homosexual who has turned his #selfLoathing outward in a pathetic effort to punish #America's #LGBTQ community for being #free and open while he must live in an iron #closet. It must be painful and exhausting to have to deny who you are to the world. We know, Matt. We all know. And I'm here to tell you that you don't have to live this way. You too can be free.
