I think this NPR story comes close to getting everything right about the dilemmas of involuntary treatment of psychiatric illnesses. I highly recommend it.
An outstanding essay from Holly Berkley Fletcher about what the anti-abortion movement might have learned from the temperance movement, if it had been willing to learn:
Like the temperance movement, the anti-abortion movement has sought to dictate to society what it regards as the only possible moral path to take, rather than to reason with people and convince them of the rightness of the anti-abortion position – coercion, not reason.
The case involves a lawsuit initiated by… #Missouri & #Louisiana & individual #SocialMedia users. They accuse the #Biden admin of violating the #FirstAmendment by operating a sprawling federal “censorship enterprise” to #influence platforms…. Justices #Kagan & #Kavanaugh, who previously worked in Democratic & Republican admins, respectively, suggested that such exchanges were routine occurrences & did not amount to #censorship or #coercion in violation of the constitutional right to #FreeSpeech.
@realTuckFrumper Threatening members of Congress so they'll receive death threats (following the despicable example of Trump) needs to be considered an act(s) of terrorism — even if committed by one other or a group of congressional members.
No "politician" should get away with terrorizing members of Congress.

Unfortunately too close to the truth - the cartoon c/o the Guardian. The man behind great television ratings and conveniently overlooked by those running the broadcasters. Now gone on to ‘grate’ things as a ‘citizen philosopher’ [sic] adored by millions! Soon no doubt to be charged while many wring their hands and repeat the mantra ‘we didn’t know’.
One of the best book to encapsulate how cults are using tech, language, marketing, need to belong & your weakness to manipulate and drag you into parallel realities that are "alternatives" to nothing.
I don’t care which books you burn, but if you’re going to hurn religious holy books, I say, burn them all.
Not just the one’s that aren’t your religion, take one of each and burn them equally. They all suck equally. Each one of them are used to control humans in one way or the other. #coercion
@alfredo_liberal 😎 J.D. Vance & other Trump co-conspirators shouldn't try to coerce/ extort federal agencies & obstruct justice while not being on Senate/ House floor - it may come back like a boomerang knocking them out off their $1,200 shoes.
