Soo I wrote this on my phone months ago and it is very much way more about the bnha in my head then how the characthers would react given that i have NOT been keeping up with the story recently, but it is inspired by a lot of wonderfull undergound hero deku fics that i will link below and will probably stay as a short exerpt of something that wont ever be fully written, but i just greatly enjoy thinking about izuku writhing essays.
Izuku knew there wasn't much time left to turn in his essay, but that didn't stop him from looking up a few more things.. that he couldn't possibly fit in within the maximum world count Aizawa gave them. But it wasn't his fault they were assigned an essay on ''the failings of the hero comission''! It was such an interesting subject that hed had a bit of an interest in as a kid.
Apparently the aim of this homework assignment was to ''get them to stop idolizing the industry'', which, yesh is probably nessesary given thats the main point to almost all of its media coverage - to create idols people can look up to and trust to save them, and yes maybe its a ''common assignment to give at the end of first year to all the classes'' but that either doesnt explain why there is even a world limit or explains Exactly why there is a world limit - someone turned in what Izuku would have and now he had to live with the consequences.
The information sheet about the assignment also included ''screening for which second year classes would benefit and interest the students most'' under the poa section, so Izuku also wanted to be extra sure that he would easily get into the analysis and information portion of the more specialized hero training UA offered.
And so came the dilemma on which failing of the hero comission to include, and how much focus to put on each one, He'd put a hard limit on himself at 3 main issues to look at in depth (the recommended amount was two but that was too unlikely).
The first one was a fairly easy pick - the property damage and the lack of attempts at mitigating it, which he mostly ignored in his day to day life, but had discussed at length with his mother as a child, when it came up in one of her cases as a lawyer, before she retired, and one he liked to keep up with whenever he found enough free time from his responsibilities and other hero related hobbies.
That one was also overall, simple to research as he had most of the research papers and citations already on hand. The amount of research he was putting in wasn't really required, but its not like it wasn't something he enjoyed.
One of my all time favourite bnha fanfics ever, truly a wonderfull read for anyone that thinks izuku might be more comfortable and do better in underground heroics

As the name suggests, its class 1A playing some UA style tag - it has some fun twists but if youre not intrested in deku centric stories.. frankly dont go for anything on this list as its most of what i read.
