A couple of days late and after an argument with the bread machine I've managed to a reasonable approximation of a traditional Guernsey Gache to mark the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the island from Nazi occupation.

Finished my hacked-together sleeveless hoodie! The panel doubles as a fully lined pocket. My kid shrieked “cool!” when he saw it, so my job is complete ☺️
Knit fabric, like this cotton Lycra t shirt material, gets a bad rap for being hard to sew. I taught myself to sew starting with knits, because what I wanted to make were comfy clothes. (It was 2020, and if we were all going to die I was damn sure going out in joggers.) I’ve since learned to sew wovens, and I honestly think sewing most knits is faster and easier! No fastenings and very little seam finishing required.
I find that in general, higher quality knits are much easier to handle and sew. I’m a huge sucker for custom-printed small shops. They’re art, and they’re usually printed on heavy, quality bases that don’t roll or distort. Most of the kid’s stuff I’ve made in the last week is from a shop called Rocker Bye Destash - I’m in a “sewing from the stash” phase and I have so many of Amber’s cute designs.
And a serger isn’t a necessity. My serger has been out of commission for a year and a half, because taking it to a repair shop never sounds fun and I haven’t truly needed it. I sew my seams with a stretch stitch and finish them with a zigzag or a faux overlocker stitch (and usually topstitching too, because I love the look.)

A close up of the panel, which doubles as a fully lined pocket. A white adult’s hand is gently expanding one of the side pocket openings.
The back of the shirt. It’s just the kids-and-critters pattern again, but it looks even prettier as an unbroken field.

Based on a request from the youngest: weighted companion cube.

The underside (support was required) came out better than I had feared

Lightweight PLA experimentation continues: tried to make something that's not printed in vase mode: didn't go that well, it's ok on the outside but the stringing on the inside is extreme

The single extrusion width walls are really practical though. I've been wondering if this material could work well as a cladding for a standard PLA frame...

This is a nozzle experiment for my PC fan desk fan designed in

@voxpelli everything else I've tried was vase mode and it worked really well, for this I just wanted to try fast & stupid to see how bad it was (pretty bad).

Normally I do a lot of bolted joints in prints, I've been using as a way to try things I don't normally do so different ideas are what I want to try. I'd thought about glue but interlocking (+glue?) is a good idea to add
