I had fun writing these lyrics specially for #mjfpianotrail2024. By far the two best pianos on the @manchesterjazzfestival@manjazzfest piano trail, grand pianos no less, and indoors so no worries about the elements… are this one at Harvey Nich’s and the one at the Corn Exchange. Such a lovely laid back jazzy vibe, and the chords crunch along nicely. I wrote the instrumental bit myself. I love singing this song, always have.

I’ve been singing this song on and off since I was 14 years old and Alison Moyet had a hit with her cover of the Billie Holiday original. The piano accompaniment is super simple, but apparently the chords are a bit of a nightmare for guitarists.
