Wintermute_BBS, to modeltrains

Some more content. Since I haven't got much space, I opted for a small base-plate (110cm x 75cm). With a 1:160 scale you can still get some action onto the tracks.

So here's my first . I'm a total noob to these things, etc. so I kept things "flat" (no elevation / upper level). Still, I wanted my trains to run through a small tunnel (gray section posing as "rock"), which will be made of "Styrodur" plates stacked on each other and being decorated / painted "rock" style.

Let me hear what you think?

So after some reading and trial and error, I've set up a "couch table oval" to learn and test the decoder functions. Now I can control all switches, the trains and the decoupler from . Nice. Next stop: feedback sensors and block sections ...

And yes, this is the actual base plate I'm going to use for the finaly layout (on which I'm still working with SCARM)

Windmill.

N-gauge (1:160 scale) windmill, repaired and repainted.

The sails had been glued on to the body. I removed this and repaired the axle so that the sails now spin freely.

The whole thing was then painted up in a realistic style.

Pictorial evidence of the N-gauge windmill's sail rotation.

Much better than being glued in place, I feel.

N-gauge train shed. 1:160 scale.

Re-built, Repaired, and Re-painted.

The colour of the painting was matched to how it was originally painted by my Grandfather, just in my more realistic style.

More photos of the N-Gauge train shed.

Here you can see the roof from above and inside.

Also inside, I believe my Grandfather was making a joke using a "plastic models" piece as a sign in a plastic model.

And around the back, can you spot to one window I had to repaint...

Inside the train shed is a sign that reads "Plastic Models".

N-gauge house.
Repaired and re-painted.

This little house (1:160 scale), was in a sorry state when I got my hands on it.

I repaired some minor damage, gave it some interior furniture, mounted it on a base and painted it up.

One final shot of this N-gauge house.

Here we find the homeowner cleaning the windows, with a view into the dining room complete with table and chairs, art on the wall and curtains (all curtains were added by my Grandfather when he originally built this house).

Furniture and interior walls were added by me.

More angles of this N-gauge bungalow.

I used a thin base so that this could easily be incorporated into a layout in the future.
