    @scruss my biggest surprise is to see tram rails in downtown toronto. I thought north american cities had long abandoned those in favour of subway lines.

    This tiny keyboard can connect to bluetooth as well as its own (2.4G) transmitter (to multiple computers). Hot swappsble key switches. It's quite impressive for the price.

    I got 3 cheap Toshiba Satellite laptops at the electronics flea market this weekend.

    This one... well, it boots more than the first one, but I'm not sure I'd call it usable.

    Over the past two weeks I've been working on a little evening project: I ported Stunt Car Racer to the Commodore Plus/4. There's still a little work to do before I'm ready to release this into the wild, but the actual game works nicely and looks amazing in the glorious TED colours!

    @jimblimey when I finished my I bought the "Pat Morita Pack" (https://itch.io/s/94410/pat-morita-pack) which included this game. Comes with nice music.

    EDIT: "Black & White" is also a nice one by the Pat Morita Team!

    • YEARS of OSes, yet NO REAL-WORLD USE FOUND for sharing CPU time between multiple programs

    • Want to run a different program anyway? We had a tool for that: It was called EEPROMS

    Nur mal ein Gedanke: Ließe man die Sportberichterstattung in den Nachrichten einfach mal weg - würde das überhaupt jemand bemerken?
    Fans und andere Interessierte wissen die Ergebnisse doch eh schon aus Apps und Livetickern.

    @flumen_calculi und was werfen wir dann als nächstes raus, weil es "uns persönlich" nicht interessiert? Das Wetter? Gibt es auch Apps und Ticker, und wenn es schlimm wird halt NINA. Also auch weg mit dem Wetter!

    Gleiches gilt dann auch für alles, was nicht direkt mit dem politischen Tagesgeschehen zu tun hat: Todesmeldungen und Nachrufe z.B. - die werden ja eh über Social Media verbereitet braucht also auch kein Mensch ...

    Merkt Ihr was?! Genau: ob und welche Themen für jemanden relevant sind, das ist eine sehr individuelle Sichtweise und daher tun unsere öffentlich rechtlichen Medien gut daran, all diese Interessen abzudecken. Auch wenn es Fußball, Nachrufe, die Börse oder das Wetter ist! Die drei Minuten werdet Ihr das ja wohl mal aushalten - der Vielfalt zu Liebe.

    Und ich möchte nicht, das einzelne darüber entscheiden, was ich zu sehen bekomme und was nicht.

    I am currently programming ubttix process management code, and friends, it must have been a revelation for Ritchie, Kernighan and Thomson to program unix in C. This is SO EASY compared to assembly. I spent several weeks doing process management for nnos-hc11, it will be done in days for this version.

    Mi sembra di avere forse non fatto l'affare della vita, era meglio avessi tenuto il vecchio 3.1 aggiornando solo i kickstart al 3.1....ma ormai la frittata era fatta.

    ⚠️​ As you may or may not have noticed, "RC-BOX" is currently having upstream problems (only 0.6 Mbit of the 25 MBit I pay for).

    ☝️​ This is an issue with my ISP ( of all things, having the cable monopoly in my region) and I've already opened a ticket with them.

    ❗​ However, please be aware that your current online experience with RC-BOX may be heavily impaired.

    I just ran a speed test and we're up to 11 Mbit upstream right now (still less than half the bandwidth I pay for).

    I suppose congestion of the return path occurs during the daytime when lot of people are doing work from home.

    I'll check tomorrow morning again.
