@dansup When it comes to federated video site there always comes up the obvious question: where would the videos be stored?
While a typical Mastodon server can use some of the tiniest VPSes you can count the number of videos you can store on such VPS on your fingers. :ablobcatpopcorn:
@Xen4n@BigAngBlack The Pixelfed app is already hugely complicated and I'd argue that a separate app with only a video feed like Loops will provide offers the ideal compromise.
Say I were to build in Loops to the Pixelfed app, it would delay the release for at least a month and would have to be opt-in otherwise I think most users wouldn't approve.
