Chatted with the mailman, and apparently there are 3 homes going restoration for similar plumbing disasters on his route. One is a year and a half into restoration; the other the owner is engaged in litigation against the insurance company.

Something this old and everything else attached of similar era makes plumbers grumpy! Lesson so far on this disaster is to plan on refreshing plumbing more frequently. That was not in the "becoming a homeowner" brochures, LOL.

Sigh. More holes. They have not found the leak yet, are going to call a leak detection company.

Hmm, this whole getting-the-house-repaired-after-disaster thing is most certainly slow. Kitchen tile (being replaced) has lead in the glaze, so now a special contractor has to remove the tiles... not sure how long of a delay that is, but unfortunate. Although, better to NOT have leaded tile (not that we're crushing and eating our kitchen tiles....)
