Hey friends, anyone with access to a Mac, minimal #MacOSdev skills (and a love of teaching #Python, perhaps?) would like to help me package a customized #ThonnyIDE that includes pre-installed #py5 & #pymunk?
For this one, I decided to give #pymunk a try. Here it's simulating the path of three double pendulums with different lengths. The color within each path corresponds to the velocity at each point.
Sometimes #monkeyPatching gets a bad reputation, but I feel like adding draw methods for #pymunk shape-objects is such an elegant solution, it simplifies so many things... you don't need extra data structures to keep track of them, you don't need to check object types at the draw loop... #Python
Dear Fedi-friends, if you are on #Windows and like #Python or you'd like to learn Python, I have just updated my #portable#ThonnyIDE on a zip, that comes with #py5 and thonny-py5mode plug-in, for drawing wonderful stuff, and #pymunk for simulating #2DPhysics:
