trick, to random

Last night and this morning pulled together Python code to allow me to make a local archive of Wikipedia pages. Started with the Level 4 Vital articles, and now adding code which pulls in the top 100 most viewed articles each day. We'll see how it progresses. Been a fun little diversion.

livingcoder,

@trick seems like the kind of website that would be great to have across the . Like, everyone has a small piece of it stored on their device and a lot of people share some of the same pieces, just in case. Every time you connect to the internet, your device checks to see if your piece has been update in the official, centralized system. If an update is required and your device's MAC address mod 12 is this month (zero-indexed), it updates. This type of system allows for rolling updates, preserving some history in the event of an attack on the central system.
