An old UKUUG contact got in touch today and that reminded me to see if anything had happened recently.
UKUUG website: Either hacked or domain lapsed and taken by someone else, now points to gambling info.
#ukuug: Found out that Simon Riggs from PostgreSQL has passed away in a private plane crash (he was always up for giving a talk and was great company in the pub).
Sad to hear that UKNOF is another casualty of recent times and is not going to continue in its current form. I enjoyed the few events I attended, even though it was at the periphery of my expertise. Not as down as I am about UKUUG disappearing, but I guess times + people move on.
Sad to say this, but with the FLOSS UK website also down (TLS certificate expired in April), I think it's finally the end of the Organisation Formerly Known as UKUUG.
I spent 6 years on Council (4 as chair, plus a brief stint as interim treasurer), went to most (all?) of the conferences in that time and met a lot of people who I'm still in touch with.
