Totally agree but I’m fine with them choosing protonvpn as the best overall out of that list. I like proton and have used them for years. But, the fact that Mullvad wasn’t in their list at all is suspect.
Not just that, but you also have things like MRI, CT, and PET imaging in the medical world that would suddenly not need liquid helium and nitrogen for operation. Scientific instruments like NMR and high resolution FT-MS machines will stop using all the liquid helium and nitrogen. It will save are rapidly disappearing helium resources and allow for that to be used for other things.
Then there is mass transit that can be developed. The list goes on.
It’s so much worse than it already was when I lived there.
That’s what happens when we do nothing to stop the problem. Sure the house is on fire, but everything will be fine. Twenty minutes later…. This is so much worse than it was 20 minutes ago.
They totally miss that kbin federates with lemmy and mastodon whereas Lemmy doesn’t microblog. Also, the list 4chan as a Reddit alternative and 4chan is a cesspool.
Lemmy is a community led content aggregator similar Reddit. Mastodon is a microblogging platform similar to twitter.
Kbin combines the functionality of both and federates with both. Think of it as twidder or rettit. Insert a smash up yourself.
Lemmy was created by a couple pro-China pro-Putin “communists” and one of them is full on genocide of Uyghurs is not happening because they do not consider them people.
Kbin was created by someone who wanted a place for friends.
He financed Signal app after walking away from meta and an addition 3/4 of a billion or something like that. He publicly stated that they’re evil. When financing Signal App his one stipulation was don’t do that
Around June 10, a massive influx of reddit refuges hit the fediverse in a giant migration that nocked out massive parts of the fediverse. Kbin activated cloudflare, beehaw went to application mode, several lemmy instances went down, mastodon had a huge influx.
Johnson & Johnson has sued four doctors who published studies citing links between talc-based personal care products and cancer, escalating an attack on scientific studies that the company alleges are inaccurate.
Suing the doctors for pushing a false narrative is jarring enough, but they’re trying to get the patient’s names used for all studies. What a fun precedent they’re trying to set!!! I cannot foresee in long lasting issues coming from this if they win.
As a genX-er, I grew up having to say it through elementary and middle school. I quit participating in the mid ‘80s. We were forced to attend John Birch Society events in school hat would talk about how horrible Russia was and how they fed propaganda to the kids from an early age. Reagan would always talk about all the horrible things USSR would do with their childhood propaganda too. I realized right away that everything the school was doing was the same thing.
I got labeled as a bad kid. Not Christian enough and not obedient enough.
I really do like KBin and Lemmy and the fediverse on the whole, but development is still young and the userbase still growing. KBin is still basically early access, and Lemmy is buggy. I spent alot of time in reddit and I'm feeling the pain of trying to ween myself from it. Just wanted to here community perspectives and see how...
I really hope @christianselig is paying attention to all this. It sounds like his iPad work would directly translate over here and a bit of work would create a fedi app.
I’m sorry, but kbin is light years ahead of old.reddit these days. I can customize my feed to show full pictures on kbin, but old.reddit is minuscule thumbnails and ever failing parts. I sure miss full functional RES, but kbin has been great. Besides the lag, 503and 404
Issues. But I’m old and patient.
Yes. He has been so transparent from the start of this, and was really optomistic; but f-u/spez was/is unwilling to be reasonable. There are ways to say no without being a misleading tiny prick.
Right!! The funny thing is f-u/spez picked Christian to shit on because he was being transparent; never once thinking Christian kept logs and recordings of everything because I'm sure f-u/spez deletes everything as policy.
After Elon and Rogen harassed a covid scientist today with a follower doxing and going to the scientist’s house, I’m not sure how long twitter has left. That lawsuit is going to bury shit fast.
