I will never see 2248 and I’m super happy about that. I’ve become a true pessimist when it comes to the kind of societies humans will build…

1984, to reddit in Reddit Will License Its Data to Train LLMs, So We Made a Firefox Extension That Lets You Replace Your Comments With Any (Non-Copyrighted) Text - The Luddite
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Sounds like you haven’t seen this happen before… This is a typical pattern in IT. Sites will come and go. It’s a good thing that people take action when they are not happy. Reddit exploited users and moderators to work for free, then sold their data.

1984, to technology in Google Search Is Now a Giant Hallucination
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Well not when it’s a company that people can’t get away from. Big tech is so big and there are so few alternatives that they can treat people how they like.

We are living in the mega corp world now where they have more money than countries.

Money is power to make the rules what you want.

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Must be fun to be done porting it to qt5 and realize qt6 is now the default. :)

1984, to science_memes in Conspiracies
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Well this is by design. Some conspiracy theories are just out there to make everyone think all conspiracy theories are hoaxes. They are the completely idiotic ones that is impossible to even see how they would work.

The entire flat earth society is also a complete hoax. It’s just there because people Google on these things and that’s the first hit the search engines give you. I think they say on the page that the earth is like an elevator that goes up all the time, or something like that. :)

1984, to asklemmy in Using Google whilst Duck Duck Go is down. How long has Google been this bad?
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

I don’t know, been on Kagi for a year so forgot Google.

This is several days too late news… But sure.

1984, to casualconversation in I don't like my job
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

I loved my job, then we got a new manager and now the team is feeling stressed enough to consider quitting.

Did I mention my utter despise for managers? I think I’ve had ONE good one that was helpful, and like 15 that all sucked at what they are supposed to be good at. They all made things far worse!

1984, (edited ) to lemmyshitpost in Why has no one thought of this before?!
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Or better, just remove land from America so everyone sinks. :)

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

I knew I would get opposing views here :)

There are many ways to do it, but I think everyone should make their own at home. It’s super tasty and quick.

I’m super disappointed also in what these burger chains offer. All of them have small shitty burgers full of sugar.

Started making my own burgers. It takes 10 minutes! Mix meat and a bit of salt and pepper and make the pieces really thin. Fry in pan. It’s delicious.

Fast food is disgustingly expensive for the amount of food you get too. Their drinks are ultra cheap sugar water, and even that they are thinking of limiting.

I don’t think actresses are worth more than ordinary people but sure, I get what you are saying.

Big tech fucks everyone over, as usual.
