I agree, but what’s more, I am not trying to defend the behavior of Jobs here. But…to me anyway there is a material difference between say this, where the product did live up to the demo ultimately. In this case the demo was done on pre-release versions and so problems were expected and planned for.

Contrast this with say the cyber truck launch. Similar situation but 1. they failed to properly anticipate and plan for failure (broken window?) and 2. they made promises about wishes and desires, because the delivered product thus far does not live up to the promises.

The whole behavior is shitty to be sure, but I’d be ok going back to demos about planned yet achievable and deliverable features.

What worries me is that we keep getting reassured that someday, at least one of these 91 charges will stick and it will take care of everything. But I see absolutely zero reason to believe that there will be any consequences whatsoever. The delay tactics have thus far been working and his popularity just grows and grows.

We are wide awake and still letting it happen; and we see it happen in other countries the world over. My only conclusion is that this is what people want.

Mostly due to the current world kerfufles… but I agree in principal. I’m not fond of nearly any dems in leadership but I want them in power so that we can focus efforts on fixing the party rather than an existential crisis to democracy.

It was meant somewhat tongue in cheek, I realize the parties are miles apart. However, if the entire republican party disappeared, we’d still have a shitshow of a government.

Yep, arrived during the initial digg exodus, had tens of thousands of posts at Reddit, modded two subreddits. Closed my account the day during the protests and haven’t been back.

I’m not as active here, mostly due to a busier life but found a new home anyway.

Today I had lunch at a restaraunt, I was given the option to tip so I did, expecting to get service. I got the fast food treatment, they threw a tray on the counter that I had to pickup and when I went to leave they made me bus my own table…

I’ve got family that used to rely on tips so I’ve always been a generous tipper. The recent tip culture has completely changed me though and now these expected tips just piss me off.
