I’ve messaged like a dozen people on Marketplace this morning about buying their phone listed for sale and 90 min later, 0 replies. Hmmm.

78zeros,
@78zeros@aus.social avatar

@decryption @karlcx perhaps if their phone was flashed with LineageOS they’d be able to respond sooner. Chicken and egg.

@decryption it’s been a little while since this post. Do you have another server yet?

@decryption since when has that stopped you?

the ikea zigbee button i got for 99c 3 years ago when they were being cleared out has finally come in handy

78zeros,
@78zeros@aus.social avatar

@decryption I use ikea zigbee controls throughout my place. They’re cheap and rock solid reliable

Leaving “Sent from my iPhone” on is a complete release from the aesthetic jail of composing a well crafted email. Just throw words onto your screen and send. You are set free, there is no form to bend to

    @decryption if you ever need to boost the signal, throw a zigbee lightbulb in the garage - permanently powered zigbee devices act as routers and provide additional pathways back to the coordinator.

    @decryption when you find one (preferably Zigbee) please let me know

    78zeros,
    @78zeros@aus.social avatar

    @decryption all my lights and light controls are zigbee and have been rock solid, I’m in an 80-unit apartment building so no shortage of 2.4ghz noise here

    78zeros,
    @78zeros@aus.social avatar

    @decryption It's not eink, but https://www.ozsmartthings.com.au/products/oz-zigbee-temp-and-humidity exists. I have been eyeing them off a while but not desperate enough for the data to want to spend $50 per sensor.

    @decryption I just moved from leaptel back to launtel last weekend. I couldn’t narrow it down and didn’t try too hard to other than messing with dns servers, something about the connection just felt a bit sluggish even on gigabit. I am currently on 100/20 with launtel (because I haven’t needed faster in the last week) and it’s definitely feeling snappier. I admit this is very unscientific, but I don’t get paid to work on my own shit, and FTTP makes it so easy to just swap providers…

    I love my electric bike for my getting around and doing stuff requirements.

    I now want to buy a cheap, light road/hybrid bicycle for weekend excursions and some more serious exercise.

    Should I pay the $150 extra to get the one with the disc brakes?

    78zeros,
    @78zeros@aus.social avatar

    @luciedigitalni I doubt I’ll ever say “damn, the brakes on this bike are too good, wish I’d gone with the cheaper option”
