@luciedigitalni@aus.social

I'm a policy nerd, studying Italian, trying to grow veggies and learning to be more tolerant and empathetic.

I like tea, libraries, jigsaw puzzles, fridge magnets, cooking, mountains, trains, rescue dogs, history docos and southeast asian islands.

When I grow up I want to be a train driver. Or a librarian. Or maybe a character in a William Gibson novel.

I only boost pics with Alt Text. My posts vanish after three months.

If you are feeling bad about how your life is going, at least it hasn't reached the depths of having people write about huge weirdos allegedly trying to find you friends.

Weird little V/Line office at Box Hill Station. How old is that logo?

@timrichards @ajsadauskas @danielbowen I bought a ticket there once, when my mum lived down the road. Around 1998, I reckon

Engage ass covering:

Labor MP Josh Burns has said he feels blindsided by the Albanese government’s support for new gas production and that he didn’t get into politics to “be a support mechanism for the fossil fuel industry”

Person Two: "It hasn't, I'm on solar power"

Hot buttery fuck people sure are interesting huh?

luciedigitalni,

@sister_ratched @Joseph I'm guessing that 82% only refers to people who did not die of an infectious disease caught onboard?

The ACT government has announced MyWay+, which will enable bank card fare payments, will be implemented by November. https://canberradaily.com.au/myway-coming-to-act-public-transport-by-end-of-year/

luciedigitalni,
@luciedigitalni@aus.social avatar

@timrichards @danielbowen @ThermiteBeGiants there was an amusing little sledge in the local ABC news story last night noting that "Canberra was getting this done before Victoria", as though Victoria is some sort of benchmark in public transport ticketing system efficiency. I had a good laugh

@Godfrey642 @timrichards @danielbowen @ThermiteBeGiants but hey, it only cost $1.5 billion dollars!

Considering swapping from one of the big banks to . Anyone have experience with them?

Also happy to take recommendations for other banks divested from fossil fuels.

@noodle I use Bank Australia and Beyond Bank. Both good, use identical software platforms. Beyond is my preference as they have branches local to me and are good for the non-profit i'm involved with

"The gas giants won’t have to explore for new gas fields themselves. Santos, Woodside, Origin, Chevron, BP and Shell won’t have to spend a cent looking for new deposits — you’ll be paying for it instead.

@MorpheusB works for me

luciedigitalni,
@luciedigitalni@aus.social avatar

@MorpheusB independents, by definition, have to overdeliver for their electorates to get reelected. We're very lucky to have David Pocock representing the ACT in the Senate. He's not a Teal, he's actually a fair bit to the left of them on most issues, but the simple fact that he's not just another party apparatchik makes such a difference. The fact that he happens to have some real voting power on the Senate crossbench means he's able to get some meaningful stuff done

@ariaflame @msdropbear42 @mativity the Woolies app has a chatbot which gives instant refunds if you say you didn't receive an item. I wonder if such an expensive item would get a no questions asked refund
