@douglasvb@ai6yr Nome, Kotzebue and Utqiaġvik are the easiest to get to (non-stop jet service from Anchorage). All have about the same chance of clear skies at that time of year. Sun will be slightly higher above the horizon at Utqiaġvik at the time of totality (11º) compared. to Nome (8º) and Kotz (9º)

@leahwrenn The fear is we get partway through break-up and then next week it gets cold again, so lots of treacherous ice underfoot. There is significant model agreement on just that scenario for early next week. Currently in the models it's a short lived cold then moderates back toward normal, but…
