Nome Wednesday 600am: low end blizzard late evening and overnight but now winds diminishing and visibility way up: light snow and blowing snow, breezy, 22F (-5.6C). #MyAlaskaWx
24.03.29 Midtown Anchorage @ 7:45 am 27° and partly cloudy and lots of frost. Still, the rock wall that faces the south wall of the house is melting clear, even though the big piles pulled down off the roof are, well, still big. #MyAlaskaWx
Whoa, where’s the inversion we hill-people have learned to enjoy? 5° F on Keystone Ridge at 6:00pm. I imagine this wind (to 25mph) is mixing up the temperature layers. #MyAlaskaWx
Another sunny day in paradise. Well, paradise if you can afford to live here, but that's for another post. 😉 😆
I put on my cleats and braved Totem Park. Long stretches of clear gravel punctuated by sneaky, slippery spots. I can't afford to fall, so it will be cleats again today!
We did meet up with a heron, who did not need cleats.
The 60mph winds are back for the night. It's 36º and the power is flickering. Really fun to have to go out to the woodshed for another wheelbarrow load of firewood just in case the power goes out tonight. It's a nice feeling to be prepared, but this is no big deal here in Bear Valley. #Alaska#Anchorage#BearValley#MyAlaskaWx#HighWinds
Moonrise late this afternoon over the mountains across the bay from the Seward, AK. small boat harbor. It's clear and cold! #Alaska#Seward#Moon#MyAlaskaWx
