Greed has proven to be a more effectively harmful force against humanity than hatred. We should have greed crimes in addition to hate crimes.

Hatred often makes you want to hurt people, but people hurt peope in the name of greed more often, and not only with less potential for guilt, but is often the cause of delusional accolades and reassurance both from within oneself and from others....

Honestly I wish the proud rigged market capitalists who don’t believe in progressive wealth redistribution, or a society with any equity, would stop calling themselves the “left.”

It’s nice that you support 2 homeless people being allowed to get married regardless of gender identity and live in the same refrigerator box in the same gutter, but the fact remains that no one should be homeless in a society that generates such wealth. This neoliberal mindset shouldn’t pass for left-wing. Our entire effective political spectrum has been reduced to “give rich people all the money and let people do what they want socially” and “give the rich people all the money and torture any non-white conservative Christians socially.”

And yes, i’m voting for Biden to stave off Jerry Lewis Hitler, just as I did last time and Clinton before, full well knowing it solves nothing and only slows the rate of descent into oligarchal madness and dystopia. It’s just voting to keep the water pumps running on the Titanic, it buys time, it is not a path to survival in itself.

Supreme Court won’t fast-track ruling on Trump’s claim of immunity

The Supreme Court on Friday said it will not fast-track consideration of Donald Trump’s claim that he has immunity from prosecution for actions he took as president, a question crucial to whether he can be put on trial for plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 election....

The GOP establishment, which the Federalist Society that now controls the SCOTUS represents, never liked Trump.

They spent decades turning their base into conspiratorial, counterfactual nitwits through the media they own because then they could easily tell them “climate change isnt real! Give rich people all the money! Poor people made bad decisions!” etc, and rob everyone blind to thunderous applause and their nitwits defending the owner’s grift from the rest of us.

Then one day a notorious opportunist got up on stage, said the quiet parts out loud, co-opted that engineered willfull ignorance, and stole their nitwit brigade right out from under them. Remember, the turning point for Trump was the day he told the crowd he’d like to take protesters out back and “beat the shit” out of them. Prior to that he was hiring extras to attend his rallies.

The Machiavellian Mitch McConnells and John Roberts have been quietly seething ever since. Trump makes them feel dirty because he embodies the crassness of the con they’ve been leading their nitwit voters around by from a sterile distance. Their crass nitwits aren’t supposed to bleed into their halls of power! Their careful, coordinated long game grift compromised by a 2 bit snake oil song and dance grifter.

George Carlin - I Gave Up On My Species - George's GENUINE, eloquent perspective (youtu.be)

George’s comedy specials helped raise me from a young age when no one else was doing any raising. I consider him to be one of the greatest minds, social commentators, and philosophers of the 20th century, and I’ve yet to recognize a contemporary near his level. I’ll always be grateful to have had the honor to see him twice...

Privatization works on many things

It works at turning private profit for private, sociopathic investors, almost never at improving or even maintaining a formerly government run service.

And the governmental service almost always goes to shit because it was defunded to cut wealthy investor’s taxes at their demand, leading to cries for privatization by the same wealthy investors when it goes to shit as a result.

Effective grift if you have the lobbyists, the bully pulpit, and no conscience or humanity.

Market capitalism belongs in optional products/services, like fidget spinners and massages. It doesn’t belong in prisons, healthcare, utilities, roads, etc, because private industry is all about getting maximum return they can get away with at the product/services expense, and finding new ways of giving even less while pocketing more, even if that means buying courts and politicians with that profit to make it legal.

Despite what they say about themselves, market capitalists have antisocial motivations in practice. They’re want to own everything, purely out of ego and greed, and it will never be enough.

You’re talking about people who believe to their core that a fancy lad born to real estate wealth who revels in his class privilege to a cartoonish degree, to the point of having a reality show where the central conceit was “kiss my ass for half an hour because I’m so rich,” Represents their interests.

They are willfully, belligerently ignorant in order to protect their false beliefs. They have been trained to reject any and all information inconvenient to the positions of their tribe.

Donald Trump could literally rape a typical Republican’s mother in front of them while laughing about it and flipping them off, and their mind would either pretend it isn’t happening, or declare that Biden is doing it. They’ve fully embodied the Orwellian nightmare:

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

The people that profit off killing workers like Jannikka didn’t know her name when she was making them money, and won’t care to know her name after having killed her.

This “society” is nothing more than a playground for sociopaths. Our very lives are in service to those sociopaths that don’t consider us human solely because we lack the significant net worth they hoard and gamble without any consideration beyond “what’s in it for me?”

Remember that the next time you recoil at a homeless victim of this system. That is one of us that our society beat into that position for failing to produce for our owners. Most of the peasants look at them the way our owner class looks at us.

The homeless aren’t our enemy, the government that has been corrupted to serve the owners isn’t our enemy, our neighbors aren’t our enemy. Wall Street and the global market capitalist owner class are our civilization’s and planet’s common enemy, whether we choose to actually fight them or continue to submit to and profit them like good little doggies. Everything else is a distraction, and likely a distraction of their design meant to keep us divided punching sideways and downward instead of looking up.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_to_roam

It’s important, I think, to remember that our nation, and much of civilization chooses to put property rights over human rights. Some nations do not, many of which are the happiest on Earth according to the world happiness index.

We choose, to be vindictive, petty, murderous monsters, many of which are willing to kill over their pile of crap, and some of which are extremely eager, going by their door signs, to kill over their pile of crap.

But Freedom to roam countries tend to be societies, whereas we’re more of a burlap sack fillled with turds, Metaphorically speaking.

Business Insider would like Gen Z to know that workplace anxiety is healthy and their problem is that they need more of it. (www.businessinsider.com)

“Suzy Welch, an NYU business professor, previously said the trend is fuelled by Gen Z’s ‘strong desire to avoid anxiety at any cost’ because they haven’t made hard decisions or done hard things....

George Carlin accurately diagnosing the core reason our species is failing in less than 2 minutes (interview) (youtu.be)

This was in 1992. I like how George’s example, that we only help one another after a flood, no longer even applies in the US, as you have people arguing some people from some places shouldn’t be helped even after a natural disaster.

The economy doesn’t care what people aka consumers want anymore. At shareholder insistence, they sabotage the future for a short term stock boost, knowing infinite growth on a finite world is over. This is terminal stage capitalism, and it’s not just gonna be Wendy’s, or in the food sector. The snake is eating its own tail as the scam runs out of room.

Capital markets were sold as seed funding to grow businesses, now they dismantle business ability to provide the product/service they existed for in the first place at any remotely decent quality. Economies are supposed to be lowly tools, existing solely to benefit and serve society, a method to more efficiently distribute goods/services within said society. The tail is wagging the dog.

The whole “I’m a rugged individual” cliche would be hilarious at the owner’s expense… if they hadn’t propagandized the US, and increasingly the rest of western culture, to somehow unironically glorify the bullshit.

Personally I prefer the idea of living in a society and contributing to an aspect of it while depending on others for other things. I consider our-hyper-individualistic culture where we blame people who are hurting for that sweet dopamine hit of schadenfreude, and praise people who lie that their success wasn’t a function of their society’s infrastructure and socioeconomic birth lottery including access to receptive contacts with capital is the height of toxicity that hurts all but the small class of “winners” that considers avarice to be an aspirational character trait.

Plus you know, that whole “I’m a self-sufficient go getter” crap breaks down instantly when you realize almost none of them would be able to function without their legions of personal assistants doing everything short of wiping their asses for them

Our God here in the US is Mammon, even though he usually goes by other names; rational self-interest, the invisible hand, etc.

Mammon would never let genocide get in the way of glorious profit.

I don’t believe in dress codes being of benefit, but this is strictly Texas being a dick.

I was in the Army (for school, the cause sucked), and African American soldiers were often CORRECTLY given a shaving profile, aka a waiver due to ingrown hair shaving issues especially in field conditions, and it wasn’t a deal. At all. In the fucking military, the (understandably) pedant, rule follower, uniformity kings.

The Texas government just doesn’t want to make reasonable accommodations because they’re racist pieces of shit who believe they can legislate those outside their rigid, white nationalist, stepford aspiring in-group out of existence.

And remember, because I feel this always needs to be said with such sums…

193 million isn’t enough for him, and 193 million plus whatever millions he made in years prior isn’t enough for him. He’s going public because he’s a broken, disturbed human being that looks at his unethical levels of wealth, enough for most of the other humans that live here to live 2 dozen extravagant lifetimes, and still demands mooooooaaaaaar.

Why isn’t this widely accepted as severe mental illness?! This is hoarding disorder.

These aren’t big ocean house sums. These are buying politicians sums, and they are only achievable through exploiting other human beings and selfishly pocketing most of the value of their labor because you can get away with it.

AllonzeeLV,

All life would be precious to them.

That’s a really bold claim. As the only sapient species we can draw for comparison, we largely don’t respect life even when it comes to our own species, let alone the graveyard of entire biomes of species we found inconvenient to the placement of our strip malls. If our space faring age is led by people like Musk and Bezos, expect generational labor camp colonies and being born into company stores you can’t escape.

I hope the majority of space faring civilizations out there have more respect for life than us, but that’s not a high bar. Our most advanced technologies are born out of a desire to kill one another. Power generation is a bonus we half assed upon harnessing the power of the atom explicitly to murder one another in greater numbers at once.

AllonzeeLV,

“Welcome to the family. We find your very identity highly offensive and intend to torture it out of you.”

China’s problem is a universal problem. They’re “communist” in name only. Their economy has capitalist demands for growth/metastasis, same as ours and most developed economies.

People want to have kids when they can expect those kids to live at minimum the same quality, and preferably better quality, than they themselves did and do. That just isn’t the case anymore as the global economy has run out of massive new sectors for growth/metastasis and has begun eating itself. You can see this in all the entire sectors here merging into monopolies and duopolies. Constant merging isn’t a business strategy, it’s just trying to buy time in a failing economic model.

Capitalism has always been a long-term pyramid scheme to concentrate all the power/wealth/means/capital to a small owner class. The problem is, the con has run out of new places and ways to exploit people as you eventually can’t squeeze more out of a fully exploited stone. No pensions, laughable pay, no future. Just expected to thanklessly generate capital for the owners in larger and larger quantities for the love of what? The nation trying to commoditize your entire life to profit the right people? Why would you bring another poor, desperate child to suffer such a world?

Now, in their desperation, these economies that lead their societies and governments around by the nose are desperately screaming “MORE LIVESTOCK TO EXPLOIT GOD DAMN IT!” because in lieu of not being able to squeeze any harder on existing capital batteries without being correctly told to ‘get fucked,’ that’s all they have.

I firmly believe that is why the federalist society that runs our SCOTUS is trying to get abortion banned, as the most profitable capital batteries are desperate, poor ones. I also believe the intentional decline of our public education system is meant to address the same problem, if they can make the population stoooopid enough not to consider the lives the children of already struggling peasants would have.

This world is finite. Its resources finite. An economic model literally based on infinite continuous growth/metastasis or die is not compatible with the world as it is. In every sense, it is killing us, whether by climate change from without, and loss of actual personal meaning within, at least for the non-winning vast majority. The goal of global economics should have been to establish a sustainable population that could find equilibrium/homeostasis with our shared, COMMUNal environment we all rely on from one breath to the next. Not a lot of room for Super Yachts and private jets in such a world though…

I’m just here to provide as as little value as possible without being fired, while my employer tries to exploit as much value out of me as they can without me walking out.

The laborers didn’t set these rigged, antagonistic terms, but failing to game them as a laborer just makes you a fool. Almost no employer is earnest with their employees, and that lack of respect should go both ways.

The market capitalists are more than welcome to restructure their orphan crushing economy into one that rewards the labor that makes their capital over do nothing shareholders demanding mooooaaaaar for nothing, simply because they present chips from their last exploitation casino outing, but we all know they’d rather civilization collapses, because the peasants having enough to do more than subsist would make them feel less wealthy by comparison, and would make their fragile egos cry.
