@jupiter Stimmt in dem Fall vermutlich schon.

Das mit den Memes schreibe ich allerdings aus einem anderen Grund: das Lied zu Volksverhetzung zu nutzen, wird ja schon länger als Meme weitergegeben.

Und unter Jugendlichen gibt es einen „edgy“ trend, Nazikacke zur Provokation zu wiederholen.

Also nicht, weil sie es glauben, sondern um sich als krass darzustellen.

Also das Äquivalent von Komasaufen und anderen gefährlichen Mutproben.

Und damit riskieren sie, sich den braunen Sumpf anzugewöhnen.

The Fediverse is weird, and by weird here, I mean in some ways kinda bad.

I write a lot of negative stuff about antisemitism, and I do it for a reason- because I feel that many Jews don't feel they can speak up about this stuff.

They're going to be attacked online, or face further social isolation, so I make myself a lightening rod and take one for the team.

Not everyone agrees with me, and that's cool too. No one has to agree with me just because they're Jewish. I'm speaking for me, not for all Jews, and not even for Babka Social.

But it turns people off, because it's a lot of negativity. They'd rather I post about other stuff, and maybe not even Jewish stuff, which, to be honest, would be kinda nice.

But when I do, I don't get nearly the same response. People aren't that interested in a video about a hotel that doesn't exist anymore, or my thoughts on my past career, or my tummy troubles- shocking I know!

@serge Part of this may be due to people considering you authoritative and want to ensure that your perspective on antisemitism does not get drowned.

So an option could be to write about positive developments. Maybe actually collect them: that helps to get a perspective which doesn’t boost the negatives.

@serge For a platform: gamification that does not cause loss of complexity and nuance is hard, because you cannot measure the effects on the minds of others. But maybe they can ⇒ no automatisms.

Gamification that does not cause boosting negatives could be to make it easy to add something to a story while boosting it (instead of only assigning value to it). Maybe in a compact format, so it becomes easy to see many additions at a glance.

Only offer boosting when adding a note ⇒ require thought.

@jele Da der Finanzminister das wichtigste in Steuersenkung sieht, wird er leider nicht zustimmen. War auch vorherzusehen, als Lindner Finanzministter wurde (aber in welchem Ministerium hätte er weniger Schaden verursacht?)

@Josteglitz Ich befürchte, an den Spitzensteuersatz trauen sich Parteien nicht ran (außer zum senken, wie die letzten Jahrzehnte).

An Vermögenssteuer ranzugehen wäre wichtig — bevor die Vermögensverteilung so krass konzentriert wird, dass ein Staatsstreich die Folge wäre.

Klimaschädliche Subventionen wäre so schön einfach (wenn auch wohl nicht instantan, sondern in Schritten, um Umorientierung zu ermöglichen)

When I worked as a professional sys-admin, I sincerely didn't understand why sys-admins were paid so well.

I remember thinking that anyone could do what I'm doing, and I was surprised at how I knew programmers making less than I did.

Today, having hired devops and re-training myself to do the work, I realize why sys-admins/devops are paid well.

Firstly, it's a niche industry. While there are many programmers available, there are fewer people who understand the principles of high quality system administration.

Secondly, most people who are trained in this are already working or in high demand. Demand drives pay.

Thirdly, it's a changing field that moves- in some ways- faster than software.

It's easy to find someone who think they know devops because they run their own Linux laptop, but someone who really knows both the tools and the methodology of system administration is actually quite rare.

Ich habe jetzt auch bei der Umfrage zum Verbrenneraus der CxU und bei T-Online mitgemacht.

Selbstverständlich habe ich für Verbrenne aus gestimmt.

Warum die Telekom eine eigene Umfrage gestartet hat weiß ich nicht, vielleicht wollen die das Endergebniss verifizieren.

Oder ihnen gefällt nicht, was aktuell bei der CxU Umfrage rauskommt. Ich weiß es nicht.

The point of solar panels is not to ensure "solar profitability," but to make for a greener, better world. Its profitability is only justified insofar as it moves us towards that goal. If we want to switch to renewables, then sometimes we're going to have surplus, because of how renewables work. This is well known and discussed ad nauseam. If that makes power markets unstable, then the problem is with markets, not with there being too many solar panels.

@MisuseCase that’s not the point. The point is that solar is much cheaper than nuclear if given the same subsidies.

Solars full cost, all subsidies included, is much lower than the full cost of nuclear.

That’s why it’s the better choice.
(and this doesn’t even include the cost of nuclear waste we have no way to get rid of; Asse just proves that one plan has failed)

I wonder how these numbers match up with tax credits being roughly the same per megawatt hour for nuclear and wind or solar in the LCOE report:

Are you comparing an expanding system with a static one (that isn’t expanded as quickly, because it’s produced energy is more expensive)?

Modern onshore wind and PV are expected at $31 and $23 per megawatt hour while nuclear is at $71.

@ElTico for the EU calculations based on actual solar irradiation and wind data show that even mild overcapacity make wind and solar much more reliable.

And given that French nuclear power reactors had to be shut down a lot last year because the streams they were built at became too warm to be used for cooling, they aren’t really reliable. That’s why France had to buy so much energy from Germany.

So LCOE is a pretty good metric as long as you know the basics.
