Ages ago downloaded some code for handling volume control for me to extend, it was a VB developer using c and they did the same, I just closed it and found some other code to use. 🙄

That’s because Twitter was a widely used common platform, even if you didn’t use it you still got news from there.

So people get annoyed when it got x’ed.

Do people just not use the YouTube subscription feed?

I consistently hear people on YouTube complain that the subscribe button doesn’t do anything for viewers, now that channel notifications are controlled by the bell. But it does do something: it puts the videos from that channel in your subscription feed, which is readily accessible on all versions of YouTube. So why do people...

I use YouTube in a similar fashion, I have a bunch of subscriptions and nearly exclusively watch them, and I make sure the algorithm don’t see non subscribed videos in my history.

It seems to work because I only learned about Mr beast from my nephew a year or two ago.

Without knowing much about Lemmy I would guess that a bit more info is needed, along with some human interaction on both servers to validate the move.

When I signed up i wrote a bit about why I chose that server, I think that as a minimum would also be required.

Edit: I would also only allow moving between servers at the 1st of each month, just to cut down on work for the admins.

Sounds like using GUID instead of id’s would help, but that is not something you just switch, and there’s probably a bit more glue needed for it to be feasible.

It only occasionally opens by itself in the night, and not always when a car drives by.

And don’t worry about the draft in winter.

Dang, then it’s only the local body builders that visit occasionally.

I would say that joke only works with template bugs, normally gcc gives fairly good directions.

If it’s four band, it could be a 1.0 Ohm resistor if I’m reading it correctly.

One way ticket to Mars, make it happen!

I prefer Wayland (.social) though

Context: Twitter is currently rebranding it self as X.com, which is the bottom logo. X.org is a FOSS implementation of the The X Window System which is being slowly replaced by the newer Wayland display server. Because of the Twitter rebrand Someone decided to make Wayland.social, to parody the X.org to Wayland transition.

Yeah this really makes sure Twitter will be x’ed.

He really put afterburner on that dumpster fire.

The lenders lawyer arrives at the Twitter office:

Lawyer: This is Twitter, is it?

Musk: (with a fake mustache) No, it’s X.

That makes me think of the theory about Saudi Arabia and probably other countries have had it in for Twitter since Arab Spring.

So this is just Elon doing as instructed: “Make Twitter disappear, but make it look like an accident”

Been gaming on Linux for years, currently I use Play On Linux and Steam.

I remember the days you had to compile your own wine to get something working.

And those wine fixme in the console, it felt like the game was being held together with string.
