Please notice the word boobs is floating in the air, and the text is not angled correctly making it very clear it’s just added on top.

Adding text to a picture can hardly be called a Photoshop with that low effort.

Edit: Apparently I was wrong.

“B” and half a “o” is on the stone the other half of the “o” and “obs” is either floating in the air or written on the base in an angle that only works from where the camera is placed.

Could you try and compare the deformation of the letters with with birth and death date with the added text, if you want to add text they have to follow that, based on the viewing angle. And then there’s the missing engraving of the letters. 🙄

Lol, apparently we see what we want to see, that other angle from findgrave helps. 🤦‍♀️

Those Pakleds should be more like your average customer than the support.

But if you end up with Pakled support as the meme they will just say “try x, have you made it go?”

Regarding flagship models: I found that previous years flagship or current mid-range with similar specs (I use gsmarena to compare) is a good compromise between speed and lifespan, and always go for more memory, today’s android uses about 20gb so 128gb must be absolute minimum if you plan to have a few apps installed.

Looks like one of those stills from Ren and Stimpy, or Sponge Bob.

Streaming only makes sense financially when a household can share one account, if they start forcing people to have an account per device or per person they will end up losing customers.

It’s very easy when the limit is 1.

If they operate at a loss that’s their problem not mine!

And if they then lose customers by increasing the price, or limiting the service that’s part of the game.

I have no sympathy for the media companies, they have always been grabbing money and overpricing everything.

I suspect they operate at a loss to increase their market share, and that Disney as a whole still is quite profitable.

And then we are back to the streaming providers saying “this sharing business must stop”, while they constantly move shows around to ensure you need all services and end up paying more than a cable subscription for streaming.

Yep media companies as we know them best.

You talk about one division of Disney and I talk about the whole company.

I am absolutely sure The Walt Disney Company knows exactly what they are doing with their streaming division and they have planned with that loss from day one, and I guess their plan is: “Spend X to get a user base of size Y”, that’s why I don’t have any sympathy for them.

Disney don’t have any financial problems:

Operating income US$12.121 billion (2022) Net income US$3.145 billion (2022)

If their streaming service is losing a billion/yr for some years it’s no big deal.

It's not just Adobe. Now Logitech wants me to go to a random website in order to add peripherals to my computer, and I'm met with this when I go to the page they tell me to (lemmy.world)

As if it wasn’t bad enough that they want me to use a random internet service to add a keyboard to a usb wifi receiver, they have the balls to put this for Firefox users. I clicked out of pure curiosity, as I’m not even remotely interested in involving a corporate internet service in getting my keyboard connected to my...

They have begun disabling printers remotely.

If IKEA invented trans, do they get assembly instructions in the mail?

I got fed up with ads back in the early 90s and it fitted with we got a VCR so we could skip the several minute long ad segments.

Same with ads on websites, started using ad blockers in the 2000s when sites became unusable because of ads.

A few years ago YouTube went from occasionally showing one 5 second ad, and all ads longer than 5 seconds could be skipped. To multiple five second ads I got enough, and now it’s getting as bad as flow TV.

Great with more systemd free distros!

I use Devuan, if you need Debian without systemd.

A home server is great, my rig is built with focus on power consumption, and it still uses 50-100w depending on how many cooling fans is on.

Edit: I can add that the CPU board is coming to 10 years, so you can easily go lower than that.

I checked it’s from 2013

  • Celeron G465 chosen because it’s TDP is 35w
  • ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP chosen because it has 8 SATA connectors
  • 4gb RAM
  • 530w Thermaltake PSU
  • 8 x 12cm fans connected to a USB relay for cooling

And then some big disks in pairs using btrfs

Yesterday I had to switch between 3 cables before I found one where USB transfer worked.

Fair enough, hope you find a solution.

Why do they keep making new languages

Why are there so many programming languages? And why are there still being so many made? I would think you would try to perfect what you have instead of making new ones all the time. I understand you need new languages sometimes like quantumcomputing or some newer tech like that. But for pc you would think there would be some...

Sounds like a XKCD.

  • NO! Real programmers move each bit on the disk surface!

Great that they are trying new stuff and pushing the envelope, and getting inspired by tiling window managers.

Let’s see what interesting things they end up with, I wasn’t very impressed with Gnome 3’s shell, but the good thing with OSS is that I can just use MATE or cinnamon and get the old school taskbar.

Ah I missed those details, a nine year old definitely have some explaining to do, and some form of punishment may be needed.
