Arduino Corp is going CLOSED-SOURCE! (elk.zone)
This is a big deal. Arduino has accepted 32 million in VC money and the new “Pro” boards are not open source,so they won’t be as easily cloned, and code and libraries in the ide could be unavailable to see or modify!...
Where are the marijuana enthusiasts?
Is there an instance focused on actual trees, similar to r/marijuanaenthusiasts?
I just hit Cancel by accident AGAIN.
My muscle memory is having a stupidly hard time shifting from Reddit to Lemmy, so I keep typing out comments I’ve put careful thought into, and at the last minute hitting the Cancel button!

Reddit is bringing back r/Place at perhaps the worst possible time (www.theverge.com)
Reddit seems to be fully aware what users are likely to do in the current climate. Do they think people who aren’t angry will be louder than everyone else, do they have a plan for protests, or are they just letting the chips fall?
Anybody remember Usenet?
So I've finally been doing my little reddit/twitter migration against my better judgement (my better judgement would say to take the opportunity to get off the internet but who listens to that loser). I'm finding all these platforms interesting, I particularly like how kbin combines both formats and links up to Mastodon, that's...
Italy investigates Placebo singer for calling far-right PM ‘racist’ and ‘fascist’ (www.theguardian.com)
Meloni heads Italy’s most rightwing government since the second world war. Italy’s criminal code punishes with a fine ranging from €1,000 to €5,000 anyone who “publicly defames the republic”, which includes the government, parliament, the courts and the army.

Alternative to Google Photos
So I’m looking to disconnect myself from Google and their tracking (as much as possible) and I was thinking about installing GrapheneOS on my Pixel phone. I mostly use my phone for Lemmy, Signal, NewPipe and taking photos. The last one is my biggest bother at the moment. The Google Photos environment is so convenient - I take...
Google (search engine) alternatives?
Hi! I’m trying to find a Google alternative, tried duck duck go but found it very lacking, both in results and interface (not showing the date on the links, for example, that’s useful). Obviously don’t wanna go the bing route. Any recommendations? Also, sorry if this is not the right place to ask, I didn’t know where!...
Who is the most famous person you've ever met?
For me it was Jeff Kinney. I was meeting a different author I love, but there wasn’t enough room downstairs and we had to go up. Turns out that’s exactly where Jeff Kinney works! He’s the author who got me into reading so I thought that was so cool
Firefox add-on to track the trackers?
Is there any plugin that reports on or visualizes tracking cookies and the services that deploy them? I’m thinking about an educational tool.
Who are your "must follows" on Mastodon?
Hey all! I’m interested in creating an account on mastodon, and am looking to build up a list of people to follow. Let me know who your must follows are!

How do you bond parts together and hide the seams?
When you make something that’s too big for your printer, how do you hide the seams from bonding when aesthetics are a priority?

What is your favorite filament?
Lately I’ve been using inland brand natural Pla. It prints so nice and I find that it adheres to the print bed really well. My go to filament brand used to be Amolen but some of these cheaper filaments have gotten so good in recent years.
I just wanted to leave this here (www.reddit.com)
Yep, this is what the future of awards on Reddit looks like

My Haribo order arrived (social.fossware.space)
My Prusa MK4 kit just arrived and I’m looking forward to seeing how assembly differs from the MK3s. I’m not going to have a chance to work on it until Friday though.
