Coles have frozen legs of lamb ( Aus) $17.90. Wages are higher there so processing costs would be higher. We are a captive market being screwed every which way in this Country!๐คฌ
I just made a bolognaise sauce for dinner tonight. Not much left in the fridge. I finely sliced pastrami and added it to the sauce with red capsicum, mushrooms and very finely chopped Baby Bok Choy. Basil and a Pinch of Chilli. It tastes surprisingly nice.
Iโm not feeling good tonight. Iโm so worried about my sister. They asked my sister if she wanted to be revived if she crashed. Sheโs trying to survive. Sheโs not old by todays standards. Sheโs 67. COVID is not over. My sister is one of the vulnerable and nobody cares any more about people like her. Through someone who didnโt care her life hangs in the balance. ๐ฅฒ
This is the worst holiday season for my family ever. My sister and BIL have COVID. My daughter has asthma, my granddaughter and myself have sinusitis. I darenโt go outside as the wind is aggravating my allergies as it is for my daughter and granddaughter. We are all hiding in our various houses feeling sorry for ourselves.
Tonight I had ham and cheese toasties for dinner. One of my favourite things to make when Iโm feeling lazy. I used to say โ Iโm never going to be one of those old people who have things like toasted sandwiches for dinnerโ . I also said โ Iโm never going to be one of those old people who eat the same thing three nights in a rowโ Finally I used to say โ Iโll never be one of those people who make one pot dinners all the timeโ Friends, I do all of the above!
Another COVID story. The volunteer driver who took my BIL to a hospital appointment on Friday has tested positive for COVID. Apparently they already had a sore throat when they drove my BIL on a three hour both ways car journey. So 6 hours of exposure. Wouldnโt you think where vulnerable people are concerned the drivers would test prior to setting off? My sister is extremely vulnerable so we are very concerned. Now they canโt have family join them for Christmas. ( Mum and my brother)
I am Pakeha but I do NOT want The Treaty to be tampered with. I believe there is only one reason for NACT policy on this. Itโs to secure natural resources for their Corporate mates. To privatise water for instance. They donโt give a toss for the average citizen. They want division in Society. Divide and Rule!
Fish is a luxury. Kumera are a luxury. Cheese and butter are pretty much luxuries. A bit depressing for many. I buy a kumera ( around $5) every other week for the dog food. Sheโs on a special diet. The week in between she has pumpkin. I used to buy NZ fresh salmon once a week but lately Iโve seen it as much as $59.95 a kg. Where will it end?
@jonoabroad Imagine paying out $33,800 every year for nothing at the end of it. Itโs almost $500 a week for a one bedroom unit. Lots of people in my suburb paying $750 a week or even $800 for a three bedroom. Most of these places are relatively new but even so!
Iโm tempted to buy a new iPad as storage is now dire on this one. I can get a Gen 9 with twice the storage at a very good price. Seriously considering it. I use my iPad a lot. I find it hard to spend amounts over $100 though. So many years of having to budget carefully makes me nervous.
