@ChuckMcManis I've not checked, but I think on our instance (Mathstodon.xyz) we have translation enabled. If someone has one language set in their profile, and someone with a different language views that post, then a "translate" link appears.

But this is, I think, on an instance by instance basis, and it relies on people setting their "home" language in their profile.

(This may be wrong, but I think it's correct-adjacent)

Just made a substantive comment on The Orange Site, and as a bit of whimsy used "swutch" as the past tense of "switch", and I do with "lunk", "cluck", and "drug" to be the past tenses of the verbs "link", "click", and "drag".

Within seconds, two replies, ignoring the bulk of the comment and correcting my grammar.

Not surprised ... we'll see how it plays out.

@mndflayr I wonder if it's a Game of Thrones thing or something, some sort of fantasy game or film merch.

It might be a simple substitution cipher into the runes of the relevant fantasy world.

Or it might just be a designer saying "This looks cool".

Desperately sad to learn of the death of Douglas Buchanan after a short illness.

A tireless promoter of maths, an extraordinary teacher, he created brilliant events and reached hundreds of thousands.

I have another theorem that you might be interested in. It has a longer setup, specifically because I want to share the unexpectedness I felt about the result. The result itself is easy to prove in the usual informal manner ... perhaps you'd be interested in formalising it.
