Fulltime freelance provider of outreach and enhancement in maths ... I talk a lot. About maths.

I talk about other stuff too, like ballroom dancing, juggling, unicycling, education, engineering, software, and "other things".

But mostly about maths.

'Jail' and 'Prison' are synonyms. But 'Jailer' and 'Prisoner' are antonyms.

Wonderful ... has anything really changed?

From 20 years ago:

"OLEXP: Messages That Start with the Word "begin" Are Received as a Blank Attachments"

...

"To workaround this problem:

  • Do not start messages with the word "begin" followed by two spaces."

@pozorvlak I use a plain text email client, and I regularly see the first character on a line turned into %xx, where the "xx" is the hex of the ASCII. This is especially the case with "F" at the start of a line replaced by "%46".

So the bug might not exist, but the method of avoiding is definitely still does.

The irrationals are those exactly those reals that are a different distance from every rational.

@soaproot I find it a confusing characterisation ... it's ready to get lost as to exactly what implications are needed to be proved.

It's tricky, and I find it unexpected once I start to get into it.

@techknowsue What tech can students taking this test access?

Seems the easiest answer is to observe that the roots are 10 and -13.

You can quickly eliminate A and B because they are outside the span of the roots, and answer C is very close to one of them, hence won't be the midpoint.

Or the minimum value is halfway between, which is (10-13)/2, or -3/2.

On the other hand, having multiple tools to hand for solving problems is good, I'm just surprised that you would use this one. Then again, I don't know who the audience is for your video.
