Goddamn the quality of evidence is so shitty... and I was laughing at the idea that anyone thought cis puberty was as short as 2 years because have they ever observed a human?

It makes me laugh again at the levels targeted for my cis wife's post-hysto hrt... which is to say "what levels? oh that's all too varied to target anything, we go by feel"

I don't generally watch horror movies anymore. They're boring.

Cheap jumpscares, buckets of red syrup, predictable writing. Horror movies became boring to me a long time ago.

I just saw I Saw The TV Glow.

First horror movie I've ever seen that left me in tears, horrified, driving home after.

You know the management book I want to read? I've never seen it. The title would be something like "Hug your team" and it would be a feminine view of your team as a teacher helping their class of children succeed.

"Embrace the suck" is a shitty message to hear from a manager.

"How can I help you be happy" is the message we should be sending.

Weird night last night, went to bed at about 19h, because I was really tired. Couldn't get to sleep for more than an hour (a totally unusual thing for me - usually five minutes and I'm gone). Then my sleep was fitful, until about 23h when I got up again. This, too, is unusual (the fitful bit).

All got sorted when I went back to bed, though, 3 solid hours after a few minutes to get to sleep. shrug Weird, like I said.

Got a light day today, which is nice: one meeting at 17h, which is inconveniently late, but I'll cope. It's the final meeting for the granting foundation I've been working for. Which is good, because it means the honorarium is coming soon, and I could use it.

Before then, though, I have to go through and score the applications I'm responsible for. That's for this afternoon. This morning, I think I'm going rally driving (virtually). Been about seven or eight months since I drove, but hopefully it won't take too long to get my sharpness back.

One thing I don't understand: cheating in video games. Like, what's the fucking point? You're playing a game with yourself. Whom are you cheating? Great, so you got a world record time with cheating. You're always going to know you didn't really do it, so it's got to be pretty hollow victory.

Thankfully, the newer rally game I'm playing (EA WRC) has rigorous anti-cheating methods. I'm down with that. I don't mind being the 357th fastest person in the game, if that's what I can actually do.

Anyway, that's my post, and I'm sticking to it. Hope your day {is | was | will be} excellent.

@oldladyplays I love the idea of doing up a 2wd class car - it'd be a hoot and I could build a reasonable one. But same effort on circuit cars has a lot more events a lot closer

Have you had a one-on-one meeting/dinner/coffee/whatever with a cis friend from prior to your transition where that meeting was NOT primarily focused on you explaining yourself and your transition?

I'm trying to think of one. And I can't. I can't think of a single one.

Once again I'm offering to very gently tutor some adults in basic mathematics and some folk immediately get very stressed at just the idea of it.

I honestly think some maths teachers permanently ruin a lot of folk's interest in maths when they should be fostering interest in the beauty of it.

it's so weird to me that anyone thinks i am attractive in any way

i spent so much of my life hating my body and there is so much inertia behind that

i remember back in September when i first entertained the idea i may be attractive; and people were like "uh yes? you are?" ... and like... i now believe that other people believe this, but it's so incredibly weird to me still

the idea is so foreign that even though i want it to be true i cannot believe it, despite ample evidence it is true
