I'm going to guess a big part of the reason that older women spread misinformation more than older men do is that women are more chronically online at that age as opposed to trying to be active and out of the house, and/or less likely to be employed and therefore have a lot of time on their hands with no kids to take care of now that they're all grown up.
Similar to how I feel. I'm sure Skarsgard will be great. I also think the remake is unnecessary and is almost certain to come very far from matching the quality of the first.
Also, if they don't nail the soundtrack, the whole movie is a failure. That soundtrack practically shaped my musical tastes and I still listen to many songs on it.
It's not talked about, but little girls who are getting their periods at nine years old probably should be given puberty blockers, at least for two maybe three years. Of course, I say this flippantly without having performed research into the long-term impacts of being on puberty blockers for one or two years and then going off of them.
It's a miserable thing to experience menstruation years before your peers do.
You would hope so, but I was once struck by a car when the driver negligently turned without looking to see if anyone was in the crosswalk. Hit my head, permanently damaged my knee, broke my nose causing permanent sinus issues.... All she got was a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian. So there's no way a cop is going to get off worse than that.
Also, here in Seattle, a cop hit and killed a pedestrian in a crosswalk when he was responding at high speed to an overdose call without having his lights and sirens on (edit: to be clear, he was going 74? in a 25mph, pedestrian heavy zone). He did not suffer any consequences other than locals hating him and the system that let him off.
Yes, but her insurance company (I know everybody who uses them loves them, but fuck you, USAA) naturally fought it tooth and nail so it took a couple of years to get the money. By then, my credit was shot because I had been a poor college student who couldn't pay for the medical bills out of pocket. Great way to start adulthood--in debt with horrible credit, a crooked/stuffy nose, and a bum knee all because I went for a walk one day.
By the way, she also tried to fight her ticket for failure to yield to a pedestrian so I had to turn up to court and we went over the whole scenario that occurred. Her argument was that she didn't see me, in the middle of the intersection on a sunny day wearing bright orange, so it shouldn't count. Obviously that did not fly, so she had to pay her $67 ticket.
I will remember that woman's name until the day I die.
Thank you. The sad thing is that I would have forgiven her if she had just apologized at any point, instead of trying to make it out to be some injustice against her. I'm not exactly walking around carrying that grudge anymore, but I can't say that I'll ever forgive her without that apology.
A Tesla owner’s dream of taking his new Cybetruck for a spin turned into a nightmare. He landed in the emergency room with blood spurting from a wrist wound before even getting behind the wheel.
I don't cringe every time I see them in public just because they were already becoming common here before Musk outed himself as being the twat that he is, but anytime I see a new Tesla, I definitely have no respect for whoever may be driving it.
A study completed just recently shows that raw milk is infectious, at least in mice. HTST (high temperature, short time--this is the most common method used in the US but not most of the world) pasteurization mostly neutralized the virus but not entirely. Batch pasteurization neutralized it. Just FYI.
I tend to go with something along the lines of, "Oh my god, I love [movie]. It's pretty polarizing/It's definitely not for everyone, though." So far seems to set reasonable expectations and I've introduced a fair number of people to some movies they otherwise never would have seen and ended up really enjoying.
That person was clearly unhappy about that one specific thing not being appreciated. That doesn't mean they feel that way about every piece of media they enjoy.
And to be honest, it's totally fair. When I recommend a movie to someone, it's not because I want them to love what I love. It's because I want to share my joy (or whatever feeling is appropriate to the piece) with them and it's a bit sad if they can't experience that feeling as well.
