Bizarre choice even disregarding the ludicrous premise of having a billionaire you’d want to execute last. Epic is easily the second worst EMR system made by the most miserable coders that have to keep changing shit because she demands it, in spite of every healthcare professional that ever has to use it constantly begging them to stop fucking changing it for no reason. It’s notoriously and conspicuously the worst EMR system, a software category that’s notoriously the worst type of software to use and the worst to work on as a developer.

Also most of the buildings on the campus are themed and extremely fucking tacky. Look at this goddamned eyesore. Imagine being forced to live in a student apartment with UW-Madison kids partying above, on both sides, and below you til 3 AM every night because you can’t afford a million dollar McMansion, the only other type of housing within her living radius mandate. Then every day you have to go to work in a fucking Harry Potter castle or an Alice in Wonderland living room and then have to walk like 2 miles across a giant ass campus in the Wisconsin winter because your idiot boss demands you all have standups in a fucking treehouse. Coders are forced to go watch surgical procedures be done to embed with a doctor every so often, and then have to head back to the office and make the software WORSE for them to use because your boss has to be able to prove his team did a certain number of workflow changes and it doesn’t actually matter that they’re actively worse.

What do you mean, “what if?” That’s always been the entire point.

Israeli foreign policy is holding the world hostage to demand endless shipments of weapons and support, because they’ll irreparably damage the planet if placed into a losing position.

The only truth behind the conventional “wisdom” that a billionaire made penniless could become a millionaire again within a year is ENTIRELY DEPENDENT upon their social capital. If you’re a famous billionaire, you’ll have people willing to throw money at your nonsense investment opportunity based purely on your name and former status.

If you’re some guy nobody’s ever heard of with some daddy money and you somehow manage to lose it all, you’re fucked. This guy will never admit he was wrong, he was simply failed due to regulation or something.

it’s wild how the takeaway boomers have had from Kent State is that it’s now their turn and they want to do it daily on every campus.

Crazy how every young Democrat runs as being a labour movement progressive then immediately does a heel turn and reveals that they were actually just an “across the aisle” centrist the whole time.

I love how in addition to this unhinged shit, he slides the implication that $70 is the price of a game, you know. $70. The price it’s always been. The correct price of a game. Why, every single game has costed $70 since time immemorial. I remember heading down to the video store and paying $70 for a revocable temporary license for an Atari game (subject to activation server uptime) back in the 80s! Who doesn’t?

Is the gambler 500 dead now?

Seriously, I’ve spent like an hour searching and there appear to be absolutely no used cars in the US or Canada priced at or under $500. In fact, they’re not even really close. I can only find a handful of cars under $1000, and they all seem to be parts cars that have major issues that are insurmountable for all but...

I don’t think a used $500 ebike can be modded funny enough for a gambler, or go 500 miles offroad.

That said, I have an ebike that I use for 100% of my day-to-day actual transportation and I love it so much I sold my actual car.

EmmaGoldman,
@EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net avatar

Ahh, I see. The Gambler 500 is an event with a price limit, where you buy a car for no more than $500, modify it for offroad use, then try to drive it 500 miles offroad. Many of the entries in the event have been very silly, such as old stretch limousines or road sports cars that are turned into offroad Monster Trucks, or economy sedans where the roof is sawed off to make it into a tiny pickup truck.

Nine people died as a result of a horrifying joke accident.

In 2018, Republicans accidentally legalized cannabis. Now 22 AGs want them to undo it (thehill.com)

Finally, around 2023, the legal cannabis frontier pushed even further. Enterprising vendors realized that Congress had banned cannabis “flower” containing more than 0.3 percent of delta-9 THC — but that even intoxicating cannabis doesn’t contain delta-9 dHC....

These people really think most children are still walking to school. These days maybe a combined 10% of students walk, bike, or use other means of conveyance besides car or bus. Increasingly many municipalities in the US either legally or defacto ban children from being outside in their own yards unattended, you think kids are walking to school?
