Ethics is about asking good questions, not just reaching a good answer. For centuries people have debated: "is it ethical to steal bread if your family is starving?". But there's a more pressing question: "is it ethical to sell bread when people are starving?"

@GottaLaff Ah yes, attracting new users by removing features. (Pretty much the only kinds of users who want it removed are bullies and abusers.)

And putting his hellsite further in breach of EU regulations that are going to start to bite with hefty and ongoing fines once the warning period expires.

He really is doing his best to run the place into the ground.

Not sure if any of this suggests this 1.2 million houses is just for private investors or is for public housing. All very vague.

@samhkennedy The clue is in the cash. A tiny fraction of what it costs to build that many houses. This is subsidies for developers, investors and landlords, the hope that some of it might trickle down to the rest of us.

One of the world’s largest investment companies has committed $2 billion to a fund focused on making New Zealand the first country in the world with 100 per cent renewable electricity.

@Snoro Too late to be first. got there some time ago. 's been at 97-98% for years, and as well. produces sufficient renewable electricity to basically match domestic demand (though exports much of it to England and supplements with dirty energy).

Meanwhile, remains one of the world's largest investors in coal (despite rebranding some parts of their many-armed corporate empire as green).

Obviously, getting to 100% renewable is an excellent goal, and getting there quickly is crucial for every nation. Colour me a bit sceptical about the role of BlackRock in doing so.

Bike riders wear helmets and high-vis vests to reduce their vulnerability on the road.

However, a new study finds that this dehumanises cyclists.

According to experts from @Flinders + @qut, this puts them more at risk of aggression from drivers. https://t.co/aMLLUMv0Yr

Want to know what's been going on in New South Wales, Australia's oldest, wealthiest and most populous state? The same shitfuckery that's defined the place since 1788.

Let the of be your guide to the hilariously dysfunctions of .

Why should you care? (assuming you're not in NSW)

Because NSW is the world's largest exporter of coal (out of all sub-national jurisdictions). And that shows in the quality of the politics: .

Given coal is the largest single cause of global climate disruption, this means everyone is local to a coal mine. And so what goes on in doesn't stay in NSW.

But also because these Honest Government Ads have a solid track record of introducing the ludicrous world of to people way beyond Oz.
