This has been the norm for bigger tech companies for a while. I recently went through 4 interviews with a company that went great at every step. Had a chat with a HR folk after that about expectations, laid out my salary expectation, then was suddenly rejected the next day on not having enough relevant experience (I have literally 20 years of relevant experience).

I think they were looking for someone slightly less senior initially, but c’mon. Why waste everyone’s time going through that whole process if you have no budget? I saw the post is still open and being refreshed on LinkedIn more than 6 months later.

While I knew about the above I still didn’t really get your joke. Calling the fake company Genocide Inc. is kind of integral to their joke, in that the students are protesting against a genocide. If the headline was about Global Tetrahedron not hiring protesters (even before the real one existed) it wouldn’t really make much sense.

It’s not that simple for everyone. Some of the studios that wound down in the last year did so because they couldn’t find funding from publishers, due to the general lack of investment. It’s not easy to run a games company with no outside investment whatsoever.

Not surprised to see it doing okay, but I wonder for how long.

It feels a lot like a middling entry in the COD franchise, but being free-to-play is a big advantage for it.

By silently voting you mean they just happen to love the prison system, or that they are hiding their links to it? It should be public knowledge if a politician is receiving kickbacks from the prison industrial complex, but I’m sure some manage to hide it too.

I’m all for publicly shaming them all, just trying to encourage focusing on the ones currently in power and on the take. But if you’re relying on people who have no shame to be ashamed, then there could well be no progress.
