I’m just looking through this entire thread, and call me crazy, OP, but you seem angry not more people are using GIMP. You’re quite aggressive about it, attempting to shut down legitimate UI and UX concerns at every corner, and it is genuinely fatiguing to see.

what lie? they told the customer the truth from the beginning, and still agreed to the customer’s demands to work on the problem. they agreed to remove all viruses from the peripherals, which they did, because the peripherals were returned to the customer at the end virus-free.

My guy, I’m supportive of your idea and search for a keyboard with those extra keys. It’s just… you’ve been and are still being super defensive about it, and definitely blowing it way out of proportion.

Yes, I agree, you shouldn’t have to learn to touch type perfectly to get into split keyboards. No, the people telling you to chill out a bit aren’t the same people that are telling you to learn how to touch type.

You’re being critical of a community that is mostly supportive, just because of a minority of elitists.

As you can see, a lot of us disagree with your actions so far, yet we’re still being nice about it. Again, the people telling you to chillax are still supportive of your search for your split keyboard.

Stop replying to every comment that even so slightly misaligns with your own opinion of the community. Stop painting proper feedback as villainous enablers of the elitist few.

Just chillax, take what you want from the comments, thank the supportive ones, and move on.

Such a simple design change but honestly it’s a genius move.

I think going custom is your best option. Keyboard enthusiasts often adhere to their “perfect” touch typing methods, and thus there is often no demand for split boards with these duplicate keys, which is a shame.

“Land-usage” is such a narrow-minded way to think about the implicit wants and needs of society. You sound like you’ve never been to actual cities, or never got your head far enough out of your arse to actually experience one.

North American suburban sprawl already proves that “enough land for us all to live comfortably” is a terrible way to live sociable lives and drains the economy due to massive swathes of those lands being used for roads and the maintenance of said roads.

I implore you to take a trip to almost any European city, and see for yourself what actual “comfortable living” for most people looks like.

I like to pronounce it “jif” because gin, gentle, Germany, gypsy. Others like to pronounce it “gif” because gift, good, game, girl.

Don’t pull any bullshit reasons like “it’s not pronounced jraphics”, because if that argument holds any water, JPEG is jay-feg, scuba is scuh-ba, and laser is lah-seer.

The creator calls it “jif” and wants others to call it “jif”. I don’t give a shit; if some people want to call it “gif”, that’s up to them and I’m not stopping them. English is not a prescriptive language; pronunciations will always differ according to origins and regions and accents and generations. I will not misunderstand you if you pronounce it “gif”, and you will not misunderstand me if I say “jif”.

On LCD displays dark mode actually uses more electricity; the brightness is always there, and you need to power the liquid-crystal layer to block that light to result in darker colours.

This whole myth about darker screens saving energy goes way back to the old CRT days when it actually did save some energy.
