It’s wild to me that the first time I heard he was quitting, they simultaneously introduced the guy taking over the role for, IIRC, one of the Arkham games(?), who sounded exactly the same so it didn’t feel like we were losing that awesome rendition of Joker.

I unironically am; but I don’t think EA is gonna use it the way I would actually like to see it used in a video game. They hear “I want AI dialogue” and will use AI to write (and probably code) the game, instead of having it generated real time so you can communicate with the NPCs as if they were actually there.

Can somebody explain why game makers don't start their own companies together?

It seems like every other week a game studio is massively laying off employees; sometimes after years of development. What I’m reading is that it’s a quick way to lower expenses and pad the investors’ pockets, flooding the market with developers and reducing their value, to then hire them back a few months later at lower...

They do, though. Like, all the time. Many Indy companies start this way, and a lot of AA to even AAA studios started after high profile people were let go or otherwise left a bigger company to start their own.
