I’m just a weird, furry, pan guy (cis he/him). I also have a big, blue username. I tend to edit everything I write like a million times within the span of a couple minutes after posting, so if you see one thing and suddenly it changes, that was just a first draft. 😅

However, when someone online shares an opinion and it feels like they might be intolerant and you jump to the conclusion that they are intolerant and you launch into a tirade at them, this is not nice behavior. You didn’t check if they have the opinion you think they have, and that’s simply not nice to someone which you don’t know.

Very much this. Just because someone asked a question, does not automatically mean they are JAQing off. And I see people immediately jumping to that conclusion upon any questions being asked about sensitive topics.

Mayor in the bathroom scene from Fight Club, but it’s furries instead of just a group of men having a mid-life crisis

I don’t really see it in the lines, but it’s referencing it so I have to assume it’s supposed to be Loss.

And for the record: Yeah, it’s overused at this point. Guess I’m a boomer now 🤷🏻‍♂️

Europeans and Americans are natural enemies. Just like Americans and Russians. And Americans and Americans. Damn Americans! You ruined America!

The one thing I would want to tell past me is something I already knew, but still couldn’t convince my dad to invest in Google and Apple back in 2002. We played a game in economics class where, using the real stock market, we started with like 50k to invest in and at the end of the month, whoever made the most money won a big jar of candy.

I won by just putting half in Google and the other in Apple and then never touching it. But I couldn’t convince my dad to invest even a little bit and I had no money of my own to do so myself. 😮‍💨

The trippiest thing about this to me is that it looks like it was built in the Doom engine, but it’s actually made with GameBryo lol

What some of you call “misinformation” I call “a joke.” Sometimes things are funny because they’re not true.

There was a subreddit for getting answers to questions in the form of something Calvin’s dad would say, long ago (/r/ExplainLikeImCalvin IIRC?). It was pretty fun.

Bottom left corner is missing furry avatars.

Also I would be willing to guess it’s because a lot of anime is borderline pedophile fantasy. Notice how most of their avatars are of child characters.

I keep lamenting that Lemmy doesn’t have any real action going on in specific video game communities like Reddit does, but it’s not like I actually liked the discussions on Reddit because gamers on Reddit just seem to hate everything. Even the things they like.

Virgin piña colada? So just pineapple juice and coconut water? That sounds fucking good right about now, actually… But I don’t have $22 😩

As someone who doesn’t like beer: This seems like a beer that would taste good instead of like beer.

I have actually reinstalled recently. I’ve never had updates re-add or re-enable anything I’ve uninstalled or disabled. And the setup guide (all the things you deny, deny, deny) hasn’t changed much in the last few iterations of Windows. It can also be totally automated to disable or not install pretty much any of those features when you create the installation media, and then you don’t even have to manually do anything during setup.

The last thing that just appeared after an update was Copilot. And that was a super simple setting to get rid of.

But why would I have to use their software? There’s no other options for the triggers that I am aware of, but there’s tons of software for HDR and face tracking. A lot of it is FOSS, too.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

I’m just wondering if the internal camera would at least be picked up as a generic camera so you could use any of the things that let you get face tracking just from a camera feed (as I do now), or if they literally have no translation drivers for it to even be detected on Windows or Linux as hardware.

Man, I don’t know how but somehow the box of microwave popcorn I bought recently is defective. I put it in for double the time it says to and it still doesn’t pop most of the kernels and the popcorn it does manage to pop is like… Stale? I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s cruncier and firmer than it should be and is almost totally lacking in butter flavor despite being the “extra theatre butter” style.

How the fuck does popcorn go bad before it’s ever even been popped? 🤨 Anyway, what I have is definitely “ugly popcorn.”

Any generative AI that was trained using the entirety of the Internet is gonna suck as an information tool, since it will have more bad information in it than correct information and its goal isn’t to make sure the info is accurate; its goal is to output text that looks intelligent and isn’t obviously generated by a computer.

Even if you fed it nothing but correct information, it will still end up blending multiple things into a single output, generating inaccurate information.

I don’t want AI that just generates shit anywhere but in a video game. I want a tool that can go through real data and give me the relevant stuff I am asking for. Which was handled better with whatever Google was doing 20 years ago than whatever the fuck AI shit they got going on now.

Chocolate and chili pepper. Sounds weird, but spicy chocolate is hella good.

I was equally surprised with how good the short-lived limited time Spicy Skittles were. They should bring those back. 🤤

The side quests definitely were also lacking. Like, I know there’s only about 4 archetypes of quests (fetch, escort, kill and checkpoint) that you can really do, but you make them interesting with the story and reasons for doing the thing. Starfield really just made a majority of quests “go get this mcguffin because we need mcguffins,” with nothing really cool or interesting about it.

DF was 100% designed around telling a story using RNG. Game is like a mad lib. Starfield didn’t go that far (most games don’t). I actually do not ever expect AAA games with procedural generation to do more than just give you endless repetition over randomness that generate compelling and unique “stories” the way DF or RimWorld do.

“Just hit them randomly until the door opens!”

I don’t know if they wanted to be funny or if even the designers themselves just employed the puzzle because it doesn’t need logic to be defeated if you just keep mashing buttons at random. lol
