Actually being there and staying involved is important. My biodad was a complete POS until last year. My mom was essentially a single mother my whole life because my biodad was never around. He was a really good father for the first two years of my life, then he just kinda stopped giving a shit. I recommend that you don’t do that. He used to manipulate tf out of me emotionally and would make so many false promises. His mental health was fucked and he was an alcoholic for a long time.

I cut ties entirely with him and a few years after that, he reached out to my mom to see if we could talk. He had finally gotten his shit together. He’s on his meds and doesn’t drink like he used to. I don’t see the man as a father, however. I see him as a friend. We text almost daily, but he knows that I don’t consider him a father-figure and acknowledges it and all of his wrongdoings. He was only 21 years too late, but that’s better than never.

He is part of the reason I have a very hard time trusting people. He had let me down countless times in my life and each time just broke me. I just couldn’t not get my hopes up at his false promises. He was so good at sounding genuine. Now that he’s sober and on his meds, I’ve learned that his truly genuine tone and words are far different than the ones he used when he was still a drunk.

Anyway, I highly recommend you don’t do any of the shit my biodad did. Being hella bitter about your relationship with your father sucks.

I had a series of classes in college with 6 students, including myself. If one of us failed, the rest wouldn’t be able to do the next course in the series. It didn’t help that the classes were some of the most difficult in our major. Barely made it through all 4 classes lmao

I grew up in rural southwestern Pennsylvania and there was a family of beavers that would keep coming back every time they got removed. The government stopped trying after a while and the beavers went crazy and caused severe flooding on the regular.

My ducks don’t get like that over food, but my one duck named Mama Duck comes after me if I try to collect the eggs she and the other birds have laid. She’s vicious. I have to put a bucket on her head when I move her off of nests because the only way she won’t fight me is if she can’t see me. She caught me taking eggs the other day when I thought I was being sneaky and she chased me then tried to fight me through the fence of the enclosure for half an hour.

I expect to have to go back into the closet again. It is especially painful emotionally because I realized I’m gay only 4 years ago and haven’t gotten to experience anything in regards to relationships with other women.

I just started my career in IT, I only have about 3 years of experience in the field. The biggest issue with finding young people, imo, is wanting people with experience. Fresh outta college kids aren’t going to have the knowledge and experience most entry level positions are looking for. I got incredibly lucky with my career, but I know people who were brilliant in college (I was not) who are currently working retail because it’s so hard to get into entry level positions.

Ah okay. I misunderstood a bit lol. I work at an MSP, so I learned that I don’t know jack shit on day one. Every single work day I am met with something new and wacky to fix. The horrors persist, but so do I.

She had just gotten her fur shaved off, so she was in disbelief lmao. My groomer went way too fucking short and Rosie ended up with an ear infection from it, so I’m getting a new groomer. Rosie is gonna rock short fur forever, but not nearly bald like she is currently lol. Her head is the best part of her currently.

Windows 11 sucks ass, but I really get tired of people saying you are forced to use an account. There are multiple ways to make a local account in 11 when doing initial setup. It just sucks that it makes most people think that they have to use an account
