I'm glad I went with lemmy.world so I can still comment on your Kbin post! I get that administrating over an entire Fediverse with limited volunteers was more than beehaw could handle (I'd hoped that simply blocking the .ml and grad instances would be enough to lighten their load, but alas), but the federation element is just so cool to me that I don't want to cut off from this new world we're joining.
That said I also made a Kbin account, partly in case similar things happen to us later, mostly because I wanted to make a Kbin pun username like I did for my Lemmy profile!
