The applause company reversed there decision on a subscription for vdr. Yet another example of blind entitlement and arm-twisting winning the day instead of reasonable discussion on people paying fairly for a good product. Leave it to the entitled to never want to gain without losing something in return.

holy cow! my laptop has been up and running for 35 days, and 14 hours! just wow! although I don't use it for much except for reading HP fan fics, using tweesecake, sometimes listening to music, and streaming stuff to a tv, but still!

LeonianUniverse,

@JamminJerry definitely needs a restart, poor ram.

LeonianUniverse,

@JamminJerry never a good idea to leave your computer running for 35 days straight, old people do this and it makes me genuinely angry.

I really do hate the idea that because a person likes Harry Potter, they are a bad person overall and it makes another persons' skin crawl to hang out with a fan of the series. We can love the series but still be supporters of the LGBT community. I give not a damn about the author I just like the books.

so one thing I do not understand about interacting with . Why is it necessary to talk about frustrations without the intention of also gaining solutions or advice to fix the problems? It is less efficient to talk about a problem and not solve it than it is to talk about a problem and then solve it after finding a viable solution. Why then is it necessary to talk about a problem with the intent of only venting frustration? Would it not be easier to just solve the problem after evaluating solutions with people and then solving it instead of having an unnecesssary meeting of the minds between those 2 other meetings? I am genuinely curious, please do not take this the wrong way, I am really truly trying to understand the thought process of this as I see such as completely irrelevant but I know I must understand it for future interactions in the future. Not saying all women do this, but it is generally a thought pattern I've seen only in women that I know.

LeonianUniverse,

@bryansmart I have always been an ear for anyone, man or woman to come to me and vent there frustrations. It has always felt like the write thing to do. As a result, I've always been known to people as "That friend everyone can talk to." Some, especially women, have told me I am like a "Brother." to them or some such. Never though, has it resulted in the creation of anything relationship-wise beyond just being that man who listens and at least takes everything to heart and nothing more. Half the things I have been told I forget about at there request. Perhaps you may have experienced the same, but became more resentful about it than I have even though I still long for companionship which I fear I will receive only when the end of my life is near.

LeonianUniverse,

@bryansmart I don't know how to be that guy, I only know how to be myself. I wouldn't change for any woman just to attract them because that would be untrue to the core of my nature and it would be fundamentally wrong just so I could potentially lose myverginity.

LeonianUniverse,

@bryansmart I don't think we understand each other here, it is absolutely a secondary thing for me whether or not I find someone to love, it will always be important to me if someone knows they can be safe to express themselves around me good or bad. Sex, love, important yes, but certainly not the main reason I would or have allowed this sort of venting to happen in the first place. I would never take advantage of a woman in that way because they are trusting me to keep there secrets and for there frustrations to stay between the 2 of us, and I have always sworn that to be what I would have and have continued to do, love or not, sex or not. Its the right thing to do as a man. Do I want those things, yes, but that isn't the way to find such in any lifetime worth preserving. Maybe we just grew differently perhaps and my viewpoint might just be foreign to you.

I saw a post like 15 years ago from someone in the space of teaching employment skills to young blind adults, who was having the experience of having to explain to someone why trying to feel women up in a casual setting was not appropriate. Bit of a long shot but does anyone know what I am talking about or where to find it?

LeonianUniverse,

@objectinspace Not sure about that, but I do feel bad for that persons' obvious lack of social skills.

LeonianUniverse,

@objectinspace Certainly isn't an isolated incident, I for one can admit to performing such to people when I was a kid, and I too had to be taught it wasn't okay to do so. I was pretty sheltered for the most part when younger so the social cues I had to learn the same way most people do the day you touch the wrong persons' butt, a slap to your face. Learned real quickly after that lol. Doesn't mean I was a predator, just... wrong-minded.

LeonianUniverse,

@cublanco @objectinspace Yep, I know that is how it was for me early on. Literally had my TVI tell me it was wrong what I was doing and that people don't like usually to be touched that way. Sometimes you really do need a bit of embarrassment to get you off the wrong path. From that day forward, I was incredibly aware of my actions and did as much as possible to stay away from such nonsense in the future.

Not gonna lie, I think Chroma is a pretty neat plugin.

LeonianUniverse,

@rooktallon @talon I didn't think reaper on the mac was accessible. Not too many resources on using Reaper for the mac as it is.

why is it that takes like a good 70% of your tax return as payment for there services? like, I was supposed to get 424 bucks in my return, but nope, because I went with Turbotax, I am only getting $191 back from my return because I had to pay for there services.

If you want to make me mad, I won’t block you forever unless you really step over my boundaries, but I will let you know you’re making me mad, and some people are definitely making me mad

LeonianUniverse,

@gocu54 @evilcookies98 @InsaneAtheist as a Mac user, I find that paying $2800 for my mac was worth the price of admission. I use it for school every day, and I find it to be quite a joy to use. I would even go as far to say that if given the chance, I would buy the Apple Vision Pro just so that I can complete my collection of apple products. I however, will not because right now there are some things I can't do with it that aI want to do and I hope that comes out in the next generation of Apple Vision Pro. I am very much an apple fan and believe Apple to a varried extent, is doing well in creating there products. Accessibility-wise, I personally haven't really found much fault with using the mac or even OSX in general because i have been lucky not to suffer many of the bugs others experienced while using there own macs. I for example, never experienced the bugs with Safari that other blind people were so up in arms about. I have found it to be quite the awesome experience and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever and before you say "oh your just denying or in denial about these problems." I can assure you that over the pastfew months I was looking at first, for a reason to dislike using the mac, but I found none even to this day. It find it overall to be very productive to use it and the workflow for it is second to none in my experience getting schoolwork done as well as music production and even some relatively heavy gaming that I do from time to time just on OSX with no VM at all in the slightest.

LeonianUniverse,

@evilcookies98 @gocu54 @InsaneAtheist but its not just the logo, your not even looking at how fast the processors are, how much the ram is used in such a smart way, the fact that on a benchmark it definitely runs faster than even the most high-end gaming PC is absolutely insane for sure. for a computer geek like me, this stuff matters. You may not be as technically minded as some people yourself which is absolutely alright even though I personally like talking to more tech-minded folks, but if you just understood what you'd have under the hood, you wouldn't be saying "I won't be paying for a fancy logo.", but hey, I'm not you and I choose to spend my money how I choose and you do the same with yours and for $2800, I got an absolute steal.

LeonianUniverse,

@evilcookies98 @InsaneAtheist @gocu54 you can't even use bootcamp anymore, your mac is more than 10 years old if your still using Lepard or the one after that to do your work, your experiences are outdated for sure.

LeonianUniverse,

@evilcookies98 @kaveinthran @podcast wait what? I've never had it crash on me IOS-wise before and my libraries are definitely still there.

LeonianUniverse,

@evilcookies98 @kaveinthran @podcast yesterday when I got my school textbooks from bookshare.

LeonianUniverse,

@podcast @evilcookies98 @kaveinthran Hell I put my MP3 star trek folders in it and it works just fine, have about 30 or more hours of content in it not counting my books.

well just tried to play Entombed on my computer, sad, it doesn't work on win 11.

so I've been trying to use ableton with my , but it doesn't seem to be working when I load KK and after the scan. Strange stuff.

LeonianUniverse, to random

so today I tried to sign up for the neurolink clinical trials, I actually got pretty far with the application seeing as they want completely blind indeviduals to participate, but... you know where I failed? There email system doesn't work in sending verification emails so I wasn't able to verify my email and my information never got submitted. I think that's a sign from God to wait just a bit longer.

LeonianUniverse,

@gocu54 looks pretty safe now, the human who's using it to control his computer is having a grand-old time with it thus far.

LeonianUniverse,

@objectinspace @gocu54 all questions that have no answers yet, but the tech is literally in your brain so I doubt there could be damage that easily from a fall unless its a direct fall on the head. The skull isn't that fragile.

LeonianUniverse,

@objectinspace @gocu54 they also presumably came up with a way to protect the brain from induction when the neurolink needs to wirelessly charge itself by connecting the implant to the person's head via a wireless charger that is fitted on to the person's head.
